First, I have... despite Livejournal not really documenting how you do this anywhere.. managed to create a syndication account for the new site. This means if you add the feed to your friends list, you will get new stories appearing there as normal. With this in mind, I probably will not be adding separate links from this journal, as that would ( Read more... )

It worked- or at least clicking on it got me there, and I added the feed successfully.

Really? When I looked at the entry, it had a big hairy "bad username" error message and then the rest of the entry didn't render properly. I'll try again.

It had the same bad-username message for me, but like Stormcaller, when I clicked on it, it took me to the feed just fine. I have no idea why, though.

Have to agree here- although I doubt it'll be as much of a problem in the future, the recent posts to the feed just hit my friends list sequentially.

Yeah, I changed it after seeing what happened... but LJ had already grabbed the feed. I don't know if their periodic refreshes will fix that or not. But all future posts should show up cut.

Thank you for finding a way to keep it here at LJ as well as your new site. I really enjoy logging into my LJ and finding the story.... and reading it. It makes my day at some levels to find it.

I vote for the text cut. Not only because of the reasons you mentioned, but also because it keeps my friends page more concise and friendlier looking.
