I just forwarded this fic to a friend that I very recently made into a Doctor Who fan, with the comment that this was the best thing I've read all day.

And that's very true. Simple and that last bit is very powerful. Loved it.

Elegantly written. :) Love the description of what she sees in his eyes. :) That last line, so lovely. :) Reminds me of the title to an early (as in off her first album) Kate Bush song, "The Man with the Child in His Eyes". And that's okay, since I have thought since I first heard the song that it might make a great song for a fanmix or vid. :)
