TM Prompt 245: What's the first thing you remember?

My Dad had a compass when I was a boy - a big ship's compass that sat on the edge of his big oak desk. I could see the glass globe that covered it even from my height and, sometimes, he'd lift me up to see the arrows wobble. I don't know if I agree, that all fathers are heroes to small boys. I mean, I had a "dad" or whatever, but maybe it was because he was a step-dad that I didn't see him that way? Also, he was an asshole, so.

But I guess it happens for a lot of kids. Do you want Dylan to see you as one?

ooc: Maybe we would sit on the floor and watch Dylan scramble across the world, his toes leaving deep dents in Pakistan. LOVED that line!! Awww, it's a cute image.

I think they are, at first. We're very impressionable when we're small.

I hope so, at least at first. I don't want him to hate me. But he has to be his own man too, eventually. Fortunately things are going okay with Beth so far.
