Lockdown Katee Sackhoff films ‘Lockdown’ in Worcester
December 06, 2011|By Mark Shanahan and Meredith Goldstein, Globe Staff
Former “Battlestar Galactica’’ actress Katee Sackhoff (inset), who famously turned down the role of werewolf Debbie Pelt on “True Blood’’ to work on a Boston-based TV show that, sadly, was never picked up, confirmed via Twitter that she’s in the Worcester area filming the indie movie “Lockdown.’’ The movie, which takes place on a college campus, is being directed by John Stimpson, who’s made a list of small local films. Stimpson’s website says “Lockdown’’ is “a psychological thriller that digs into the idea of the Psychopath Test, and whether it is a valid tool for psychologists, parole officers, or the police.’’ According to the Internet Movie Database, other actors involved in the project include New Hampshire’s own John Shea, and Bart Johnson, who starred with Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens in “High School Musical.’’

FAMOUS FACE: You might’ve seen a few familiar faces around Vernon Hill in mid- December as local filmmaker John Stimpson shot portions of his forthcoming movie “Lockdown” on the Worcester Academy campus with John Shea, better known as Lex Luthor from the Superman TV series “Lois and Clark” and Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica. Neil Isacson, the school’s director of external marketing, said this isn’t the first time the school has been used in a film. In 1992 “School Ties” brought Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Brendan Fraser there. “John’s done a great job of starting to generate a film industry in Worcester,” he added.
