MURDER AT THE PRESIDIO (USA) - The telefilm, the third in USA's "true crime" series, is set to premiere Saturday, April 30 at 9:00/8:00c. Here's how the network's press materials describe the project: "Desperate to cash in on his wife's life insurance policy, a highly decorated marine plots to kill his wife in the true tale of military murder. When James Willis of the Criminal Investigation Division gets pulled into this convoluted murder case, Willis finds his own tragic past comes to haunt him. With the help of the murdered woman's grieving brother, Willis goes beyond the call of duty to solve the crime -- even bending protocol in his passionate determination to find the killer. Others give up hope and suggest Willis do the same. However, Willis and Military Police Corporal Tara Jeffries finally blow the case wide open, bringing down the commanding officer and uncovering the most unlikely hitman -- the CO's mother." Lou Diamond Phillips, Victoria Pratt, David Cubitt and Jason Priestley are among the cast.

A Frisco Fizzle: Usa Crime Drama Murder At The Presidio Not Quite A San Francisco Treat.
May 2, 2005|By Tom Jicha TV/Radio Writer

There is one MP willing to welcome the newcomer with open arms, Cpl. Tara Jeffries, who becomes his lover and ally in probing the murder. It's a perplexing case, since the first suspect in all such homicides, the spouse, has an unassailable alibi. Victoria Pratt, whose credits are dominated by way-off-network roles (Cleopatra 2525, Mutant X), is adequate as Tara, a character who, from a male point of view, is pluperfect: pretty, personable, playful, persistent and promiscuous. Chandler notices but has other priorities.

CRIME FILM IS 'MURDER' ON USA VIEWERS
BY David Bianculli / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS / Monday, May 2, 2005, 12:00 AM

Victoria Pratt, newly brunette after her days as a blond on "Cleopatra 2525" and "Mutant X," plays Tara Jeffries, the corporal who befriends Chandler and pursues him aggressively. "You're kind of sweet," she tells him, "in a big, dumb, faithful-dog kind of way." But when he rebuffs her advances, even her embraces and kisses, she recoils and asks, "What is your problem?

The girl who plays the lady MP who sleeps with Lou Diamond Commando Gumshoe is Victoria Pratt, a Canadian actress who's really, really pretty. She's all that kept me awake during the legendary tale of Murder at the Presidio.

Murder at the Presidio (USA Network)

Air Date: Watch it on USA June 17 @ 8:00 am and 2:00 am
Director: John Fasano
Starring: Lou Diamond Phillips, Jason Priestly, Martin Cummings, Eugene Clark, Ona Grauer

This movie is based on the true story of the only homicide committed on the famous San Francisco Military Base. My character is Corporal Tara Jeffries. She gets swept up in the murder investigation, and gets a little nooky on the side. Good times. I had so much fun filming this one. We shot up on Vancouver Island, in the beautiful city of Victoria. (still loving my Victoria travel mug). The cast and crew was so amazing. On the first weekend, we all got together at the house the ADs rented, and had a huge barbecue. Lou showed his Texas roots, by pounding and marinating some big ol' steaks and commandeering the BBQ. Mmm Mmm! Lots of cocktails and a live band. Canadians sure know how to have a good time! Beware, I'm sporting a brunette "do" for this one. I hardly recognize myself!
