Victor Webster, Nicholas on DAYS OF OUR LIVES May 27, 1999

MODERATOR: Good Evening! Tonight we are chatting with Victor Webster, who plays Nicholas on the daytime drama, "Days Of Our Lives". Welcome to Lycos chat, Victor!
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Estoy muy bien, gracias!
....
CLerinET: We are all wondering how old you are.
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: How old do you want me to be? Just kidding, I'm 26
....
wearewhatweare: What do you think of Diedre Hall?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: She's a great actress. Very talented. I'm very lucky to be working with someone like that and I can learn a lot of things from her.
....
CLerinET: Have you ever acted in New York before and if so do you prefer it or LA?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: No, never have. I wouldn't know what the comparison would be, but I'd be interested in experiencing it.
DaysGirly: What is it like to work with Jensen Ackles and Brian Datillo? Do you guys ever hang out after the set?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: I'm actually not in the same story line as Bryan and Jensen, but yes... We have hung out. Bryan is like everyone's little brother. One of the funniest people I ever met. And Jensen has a great heart. I hope someday our storylines cross, it would be great to work with them.
Swanky_CaliChic25: Hey, Victor! I just wanted to say, "Hi". You already know my dad, Phil....He's one of your director's on "Days"
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: I love working with Phil, he's a lot of fun, straight down to business, very good at communicating to the actors and very good at getting us to act out his vision. Tell your dad I said hi!
CLerinET: I heard that you are involved with charities. Can you tell us about that?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Yes, I try to get involved in as many charities that I believe in. Children's charities, battered women charities and charities involving the care and well being of animals.
CuriousVictorFan: When you're not commercial modeling or acting on DOOL, what do you like to do in your spare time?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: I love to have dinner with friends for hours, just talking and laughing. I love to be with my family. I LOVE the movies. I like to exercise, stay in shape, and kick boxing. And I like to travel!
jensen_babe: What advice would you give me to becoming an actress on Days? I would really love to be on.
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: First of all make sure that you are in an acting class and developing your talent. That you get an agent who can get you an audition, and show that you're extremely motivated! Never give up, practice all the time in plays, acting classes, etc. And I wish you good luck.
Crunk4: Who's your favorite actress/actor that you are working with now?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: That's a really tough question because everyone is different. I would have to say there is a favorite actor for every different reason... Stefano for his great sense of humor. John and Bo because of their sense of humor and professionalism. Marlena and Vivian because of their inspiration and talent. And there is not one person on the show that I wouldn't look forward working with I hope they say the same about me.
RoughCrossing_RyanKo: Victor, would you ever consider doing any independent work?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: As in independent films? If so, absolutely. I think some of the best movies out were great indies, and would look forward to working on any great script..
CLerinET: Did anyone ever try to discourage you from pursuing your dream of acting?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: No. Because as soon as I would start talking about it people would understand that there was no way in the world I wouldn't achieve my goal. I was so motivated and determined. I have a tattoo on my back "Never Give Up". If you want something bad enough and you put the work in to achieve it, it can be yours.
chica11220: Do you think that you will be paired up with Krista Allen?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Now if I told you what's going to happen on the show, what would be the fun of watching? To be honest I don't know yet. I could only hope. There are many characters on the show that Nicholas would like to be with.
....
RoughCrossing_RyanKo: Do you write back to fans?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: I do the best that I can. I haven't had a chance to as of recently, only because I've been working so much. Yesterday was 12 hours the day before was 18. Also, time away from the set is memorizing lines, working with charities and benefits and advance my career with interviews. I read everything that comes in even if I don't get a chance to respond, that's why I do chats, to talk to you all at once! And also, I put the events I'll be at on my website so I can meet you face to face. www.victorwebster.com
CLerinET: That's awesome to see someone that is busy but still cares about important issues :)
CuriousVictorFan: What so far is your favorite movie?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: I have many favorite movies in different categories. One of my favorites is ET. Love the movie "Casino". The movie "Blade". "Good Will Hunting".
Iowa Blues: Did you watch DOOL before you got on the show?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Sometimes I would, but I'm usually not home during the day and I hardly ever watch TV unless it's the Discovery channel, or one of the music channels.
sweet_girl420: Have you seen star wars?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Not yet, and don't tell me the ending! But it's on the list of Must-Sees!
CLerinET: What made you realize you wanted to act instead of model? Was it a spur of the moment decision or something you thought about for a long while? What made you finally make the change?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Since I was a kid I would always pretend to be someone other than myself. So the transition into acting wasn't really a transition. It was something I've always done, now I just get paid for it. I still do both. I enjoy modeling, but acting is my favorite because of the involvement of mind body and soul. Good question. I like good questions like that.
Iowa Blues: What character on the show are you more like in real life?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: I am most like my character that I portray. 75% of his character is my own. His love for his family, determination to succeed in all he sets his mind to and his intelligence. And I really enjoy playing the character Nicholas. And I'm glad "Day" gave me the opportunity to accept this challenge.
CLerinET: We are all curious I'm sure: What do you look for in a someone to date?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Very good question! First and foremost Intelligence; then sense of humor, self-confidence, charisma, class... a sexy woman that is not sleazy, who is not provocative except to me. And then she has to be beautiful to me. That's what matters, not what everyone else thinks.
....
DaysGirly: I was wondering if you can *shake* your hips like Ricky Martin?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: I taught Ricky Martin everything he knows, because I have the hips that are loco! Just kidding. I have a different kind of hip shaking then him, but I don't know if you'll ever see me on stage.
kathy_in_pa: Can you shed any light on how your character knows Princess Gina?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: No. I'm fresh out of light. That would be like telling you the end of Star Wars before you've seen it!
CLerinET: How much fan mail do you get per day on average?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Mail or email? I get about 20-30 emails a day. And the letters have just started coming in from Days of Our Lives. That's just a couple of handfuls so far. But I would love to hear from all of you. Send pictures.
duchess16: What kind of music do you like?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: I have such a diverse interest in music -- everywhere from classical to country to acid jazz -- but I would say my favorite forms of music would be hip hop and R&B and Reggae. But I also love to listen to adrenaline pumping heavy metal while I kick box.
....
RoughCrossing_RyanKo: What's your favorite TV show, besides Days?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Very good question. I like to laugh. I love Fraiser. Also Cheers. Discover channel with the crocodile man. "X-Men", Hercules, Zena... But I don't get a chance to watch TV very much.
Iowa Blues: what movie that you loved as a kid would you like to do a remake and star in?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Ooh... Um, um, um... Maybe "The Dirty Dozen", or what else... oh any of the James Bond movies.
RoughCrossing_RyanKo: Are you planning any show appearances like Rosie O'Donnel?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: I have some things in the works, but nothing is definite yet. Check the website for more information.
....
MODERATOR: We've heard you love CATS!
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Oh, yes. I love all animals just happen to have cats because I don't have enough room for cats, pigs and elephants! Except for reptiles, they kind of scare me. Not to say that I don't like them, we just don't get along.
CLerinET: How do you do emotional scenes? Do you think about things in your own life to bring out sadness or try to feel it from the scene itself?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: When you're working on the scene by yourself, you need to call upon emotional experiences you've had. A great source is an actor's imagination also. But when you're actually doing the scene and working with talented actors like on Days, it's easy to draw energy from one another and make the scene much less difficult.
Swanky_CaliChic25: When's your birthday?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: February 7. Which makes me an Aquarius if you believe in that kind of stuff.
CLerinET: Do you ever have problems with people taking you seriously as an actor because of your looks?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Not yet. But I'm not sure if they did have a problem or a question about me, I doubt they would say it to my face. Even though I would appreciate constructive criticism. And I realize my talents are getting better every single day, especially given the opportunity I have with Days. It's a great training ground. I realize I'm no Robert DeNiro, but with practice and dedication, I will be. I don't think you can ever become perfect at acting. Because every role requires something different of you. All you can do is continue to train and take yourself in different directions.
chica11220: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Hmmm. I would like to experience many different places. Some of my top choices would be: Greenland on a glacier. The Bahamas, scuba diving. Egypt, on a pyramid. And Bali on a hammock.
....
chica11220: What is your favorite food?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Mexican! And then Italian. Because of the many different varieties involved in both. I like lots of flavors and marggies don't hurt either.
CLerinET: How often do you surf the net? When you do what do you look at?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: I don't get a whole lot of time to surf the web, but I like to explore places I would like to visit. Do research on topics I would like more information on. And I like to check out what is going on in the daytime areas. Such as... NBC.com, Daytime central.. And www.soapstarworld.com That is just to find out what's going on in my business.
CLerinET: How did you get the audition with Days? Did your agent call you and tell you?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Yes. And then... I auditioned, went to the producers and auditioned, then had a screen test with 9 other actors... I found out that I did not get the role I auditioned for. But they offered me a different one, which I very gratefully accepted.
MODERATOR: What do you want to be remembered for when you are long gone?
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: For my contributions to the different organizations that I choose to become involved in. Hopefully I can help change a wayward child's direction, or help someone achieve their goal through motivation, or bring attention to a cause that needs it.
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Thank you everyone, very much, for joining us at Lycos and I hope to live up to all of your expectations on the show... And look forward to giving 100% to my fellow actors and friends and co-workers on Days of Our Lives.
MODERATOR: Thank you everyone for joining this exciting chat with Victor Webster from DOOL
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Thank you all again for your support, I sincerely hope that I will have a chance to meet you at some of the upcoming events. Which I will let you all know about on www.victorwebster.com
MODERATOR: We will be there. Thanks, again!
SPEAKER_VictorWebster: Have a wonderful evening and remember that if there is something that you want out of life and you do the necessary steps to achieve that goal... while maintaining a positive attitude and never giving up what you envision yourself having or doing will come true. And always remember nobody is better than anybody else. We've only just chosen to take different paths. Thank you.
MODERATOR: Thanks, Victor...Those are inspirational words! Take Care....We wish you the best in your career!

Excerpt from Mexia Daily News 7/6/99: Victor Webster

Victor Webster: Never Give Up
by Seli Groves Daytime Dial

Victor Webster, who plays "Days of Our Lives" grown-up Prince Charming, Nicholas Alamain, has a Japanese "conji" or personal motto, tattooed on his back which translates as "Never Give Up." Asked if he really believes that he can live up to this guiding principle of his life, the Calgary-born Webster said, "I do, although I recognize that there are times when you may have to step back. But what I believe is that if you feel something is important enough to go for -- whatever that goal is -- then you should go for it. Don't let anyone talk you out of it or discourage you. Follow your own instincts."
Does that mean you never take advice? "Not at all. Everyone needs guidance," Victor said. "We are all here to learn from those who are wiser than we are and, hopefully, pass what we've learned on to others. You can certainly be guided by good advice, but it's still up to you to make decisions about your goals in life."
....
Asked about his first day on the set of "Days," Victor Webster said, "It was something I will never forget. I was a little nervous about possibly forgetting my lines or where I'm supposed to stand. I realized that everyone in a scene depends on everyone else, and I didn't want to let anyone down. But there was a lot of positive feeling from the people around me, and, somehow, I got through it."
Nicholas, for those who may not know, is the son of Lawrence and Carly Alamain (Michael Sabatino and Crystal Chappell) who has returned to Salem to be with his Aunt Vivian (Louise Sorel) and also cause some cardiac flutters among the members of the female population. As this is written, do we see the beginnings of a romance with a fascinating, albeit older woman, Kate (Lauren Koslow)? "Well," Victor laughed, "All I can tell you is, watch and see."
Oh, we shall, we shall.

Excerpts from Victor Webster: SoapCity Chat 7/21/99

Transcript of Yahoo! Chat with Days' Matt Cedeno (Brandon) and Victor Webster (Nicholas)- July 21, 1999

Victor: Hello everyone! Thank you very much for taking the time to join us today. It is an honor to talk to you in person, or as close to in person that we can be, I'm ready to answer any and all of your questions....
Matt: Hello eveybody. Welcome. It's a pleasure to be here speaking wiht everybody live.

Booger_Barbie_Dolly asks: Matt, How do you like working with Ali Sweeney so far? I LOVE the idea of Brandon and Sami as a couple.
Matt: It's been a pleasure. I think she's not only attractive but she's very nice. I don't know yet if we're going to become a couple. I'd like that, but I don't know what's going on at this point.
Victor: He is just teasing everybody!
Matt: A little intrigue...

brandy23_81 asks: I would like to ask the boys how did they get on DAYS OF OUR LIVES ? How did they start there acting career ??
Victor: Matt and I auditioned for the same part, for the part of Brandon. Matt got it, and I was very happy for him. I was bummed at first, but then happy. He is one of my buddies. We were friends before we started. I just went to acting classes and commericals when I was young.
....
mcbealmaniac asks: Did you watch soaps before starring in one?
Victor: When I was a young, young little boy I watched Santa Barabara, My co-star, Louise Sorel was the star of that show as well. It is a coincidence to be on the show after watching her so many many years ago.
Matt: And you're related! The only show I was familiar with was Days'.
Matt: I was familiar with Jack and Jennifer, Austin and Carrie -- a little bit with Days, but that's about it.
Victor: Yeah, sure!

apherdytie18 asks: I want to major in theater arts and communications and want to act going to college first would be the right thing right? Even though I have been acting my whole life!
Matt: I think it's never a bad idea to go to college. I'd never say give everything up to pursue it. it's always the smart thing to go to school.
Victor: I agree. You got to have an education- I went to college and I think it is important to get an education. The best actor is smart actor. You will be better to be intelliegent and be able to take direction. Have a foundation to fall back on. Don't give up your dreams.

JennyBL asks: Victor, I know you like X-men and I am watching Scooby as we speak! : ) If u could be any cartoon character, who would u be and why??
Victor: I would be Wolverine from the X-men, also I would love to be Spiderman, he is somewhat human. He invented a lot of his things.
Victor: Batman would be great too.

mcbealmaniac asks: Where are you originally from?
Matt: I'm from Washington State, a small town called Moses Lake.
Victor: Calgary, Alberta Canada.

Daisy090 asks: Victor, what do you think of working with Lauren Koslow?
Victor: She is a talented, beautiful actress. She has got a lot to teach me. Whether she teaches or I watch and learn from, she teaches. I'm excited with our storyline. It is a pleasure to be working with everybody.
....
strawberry7777777 asks: where are carly & lawrence supposed to be?
Victor: You know what, I wish I was psychic and I knew cause I would answer that question, but I really don't have any idea.
Victor: They are in Europe some where.
....
ChickaJen69_69 asks: If ya'll were to choose to be in a movie, which type would ya'll pick: Horror, Drama, X, or Action?
Victor: I'd say Action comedy, something like Rush Hour.
Matt: I'd do a romantic comedy, get a fine-looking woman like Julia Roberts, have a few laughs, a few kisses...
Victor: You just broke America's heart!

LHS_Warriors asks: have you guys ever been to Mexico? Would you ever want to go there?
Matt: Yes, I've been to Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas, and yes I'd like to go back.
Victor: Absolutely. I've been to Tijuana, Cabo, Puerto Vallarta. I'd like to own a home out there. I love it there.

sgrfari asks: Do you have a celebrity crush? And do you go out with anyone? (this is for both of you)
Victor: I'd have to say that I'm not going out with anybody at the moment. Ashley Judd - whew! and Julia Roberts are people that I could be atrracted to physically and personally. It would have to depend. If I sat down with them and our chemistry was different, I would have to see.
Matt: It doesn't get any hotter than Jennifer Lopez. I liked her before she exploded. I hope to work with her in the near future. I am dating somebody.

ilovevictorw asks: VICTOR, WHAT DOES THE TATTOO ON YOUR BACK STAND FOR?
Victor: Never give up!
Victor: And I live by it.

Prncss_C asks: Both of you name your favorite movie and song of all time.
Matt: Favorite movie of all time....the movie that always sticks in my head that I really liked was The Godfather with Al Pacino.
Victor: My favorite movie when I was a kid, E.T.. As an adult, Casino.
Victor: Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers.

JennyBL asks: Ok, it's your last day on earth! What would you do to make it memorable?
Matt: I would go out on the water, take friends with me, speed, have fun, do everything wild and crazy.
Matt: Fly if I could.
Victor: I would say, I would take the first half of the day and spend it with my family, the whole heartbreaking family stuff. The other half, I'd fly as fast as I could, hit the ejector button and sail on down to earth.

smeepster asks: Not to be cliche, but What are your "signs"???
Matt: I'm a Scorpio.
Victor: Aquarious.

Buffy1561 asks: MATT WHO'S THE ONE PERSON IN THE WORLD YOU WOULD WANT TO MEET THAT YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY?
Matt: Maybe the Pope.
Victor: Frank Sinatra. Even though he isn't around, that would be one of the people.
....
Princess19Latae17 asks: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE JFK JR. TRAGEDY?
Victor: It is a horrible tragedy. He was one of the greatest people of our time. It was so sudden and shocking. A terrible loss, and a terrible death for everybody and the people who knew him.
Matt: It's very unfortunate that they pased away, especially so young. it's hard not to imagine what they must have gone through. Very sad.

mmbeyrer asks: Is the script set in stone when you receive it or can the actors give input and change the dialogue?
Victor: Absolutely! The directors and the producers are lenient because the actor knows the character very well. There are certain things they wrote and you can't do anything about it. Sometimes you have the ability to bend the rules in the way the script is written.
Matt: It's not set in stone. if you have a legitimate concern you go discuss it with one of the producers and come to an agreement. It's not word for word - if you're more comfortable with another word you can change it.
....
jXcHuNNiE asks: Victor What is one thing you would like everyone to know about the lifestyle of acting on a soap opera?
Victor: Be prepared to work hard. It is not a joke, you have to take it seriously. There is a lot more to working as an actor than memorizing your lines. You become a role model to people. You need to set examples for people and do what you can to help out. You need to give of yourself.

bounce04 asks: Who were the people on Days who made you feel most welcome?
Matt: Wehen I first arrived my scenes were with Arianne Zuker, so she was the first to make me feel welcome. Went out of her way, showed me around... very nice.
Victor: My first couple of weeks Drake... he started clapping and the cameraman, sound man. They gave me a congratulations... Stefano- Joe Mascolo, they were nothing but smiles, jokes and welcomes.
Victor: Now that I've met everybody, they are equal. There is no attitude. Everybody has offered their advice and help.
....
Spartus1999 asks: Do you think that some of the plot lines are shallow?
Victor: I think every single scene is crucial. Maybe it isn't the most important scene but is developing a storyline.

bpsMMW asks: how do you guys feel about having to have relationships with older women on the show??
Victor: Nicholas doesn't seem to have a problem with it. Personally, I don't judge a person by their age, but by their personality. Age is nothing but a number, I have no problem with it.

Prncss_C asks: Victor how do you feel about being called a sensational newcomer by Soap Opera Digest?
Victor: I think it is a wonderful honor. When I saw it i was very happy that sometome had a great impression of me. I'm going to do my best to live up to it.
....
Shorty_gal999 asks: Do you get a lot of girls' letters that ask to marry you?
Matt: I haven't been proposed to yet.
Victor: A lot of joking woman say they would be interested in marriage, but it is all just a joke.

shortnblonde25 asks: So is Deidre Hall as sweet in person as she is on tv?
Matt: I just met her yesterday for the first time. She seems like a very nice woman.
Matt: We're not involved in the same storylines.
Victor: Deidre is very, very wonderful, very sweet. She is down to business, not socialize. I respect that. I haven't seen what she is like outside of work. I've worked with her in a group scene. I don't have anything bad to say about her.

dbjoey19 asks: matt and victor , are you guys good friends??
Matt: Yes.
Matt: We knew each other for a year and half before the show.
Matt: We'd worked on other things together.
Victor: Matt is a great guy. We've worked together in the past. We haven't hung out too much outside, though.
....
jXcHuNNiE asks: Matt and Brandon: Where do yall get the clothes yall wear on the set? For example: Victors suit he was wearing...was that his?
Matt: We have stylists, wardrobe people who take care of that.
Matt: We have input on what we would like to wear, but they come up with the actual outfits. Not ours to keep.
Victor: I'm wearing Hugo Boss, Armani. You have a certain style, you have a little imput to your personal style within that style.
Matt: I'm in Baywatch bathing suits...

Stola_S asks: What are your favorite quotes?
Victor: Unknown author. "Luck is when opportunity meets preparation."
Victor: If you do what is necessary to acheive your goals, and the opportunity is presented to you, you are in a good position to obtain them.

RooRooKat asks: You guys look GREAT! Do you work out all the time? Do you EVER eat junk food?
Matt: No, I don't work out all the time. I pretty much work out to maintain. And you have to have junk food.
Victor: What about that six pack of doughnuts the other day!
Matt: I like to have what I like to have - ice cream, pizza, whatever. It's not what my diet mainly consists of.
Victor: Yesterday I had a pizza and a banana split to myself. Personally, I work out all the time. I swim, take boxing lessons, go to the gym, where I see SC Michael all the time!
Victor: I work out for my health. I want my heart and bones and body to be healthy. The side effect is having a nice athletic body.

Melifly_99 asks: Were you guys popular in high school?
Matt: I would say I was pretty popular. I didn't really have a clique I stuck with - I had lots of friends in different groups. Played sports a lot.
Victor: I moved from Canada my freshman year. I moved to a little surfer town. It took me a while to fit in. I wasn't the most popular person, but I wasn't the most unliked. I had a small group of friends, and hung out with them.

Spartus1999 asks: How are your characters different from yourselves?
Matt: I would say Barndon is a little more outright with women, approaching every girl in sight. I'm a little more held back than that- I dont just hit on everybody!
Victor: I'm very similiar in the respect that I come from a similiar background. I get along with my family, I feel confident and secure in myself. I'm pretty similiar to Nicholas.
....
Chubberss21 asks: ARE YOU GUYS NERVOUS ABOUT LOVE SCENES
Victor: I haven't done any yet.
Matt: That was my first on-screen kiss. I had fun with it. She was a very cool girl.
Victor: How much fun did you have?
Matt: Quite a bit of fun, actually.

Spartus1999 asks: What kind of music do you guys like?
Victor: My taste is so diverse. Subline, Snoop Doggie Dog, Garth Brooks, Elvis, Sinatra, Mozart, Enigma, Salsa. Everything! I love music period.
Matt: I have a pretty diverse taste as well. I'll be the first to admit I even like the boy bands like N'SYNC, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Rap...

Luv_Sweet_Berry asks: What are your favorite hobbies???
Victor: I love to swim, I like kick-boxing and boxing, I play tennis and basketball. I love to read and I love going to the movies.
Matt: Ever since they trained me for that movie in boxing, I've picked that up. I'm an avid movie-goer as well.
Victor: Matt challenged me to a boxing match.
Matt: That's right!

i_luv_brandon_n_nicholas asks: Hi Matt and Victor! I love you guys!! I fell in love with you guys the sec I first saw you. I was wondering if your roles will be one that lasts as long as John, Marlena, and Stefano?
Victor: I can only hope. I feel very privileged to be on the show. I have interest in doing other projects. I'd love to be able to both at one time. The show is my primary focus right now.
Victor: I'd love to be able to do both.
Matt: One can only hope.
Matt: To be involved with such a great soap for such a long period of time.

dang_peanut asks: Do either of you sing, or play an instrument?
Victor: I'm taking singing lessons right now, and I play the harmonica, a little bit.
Matt: Guitar, but I need some more lessons. I'm definitely a shower singer

jXcHuNNiE asks: Hey: It seems that your role as Nicholas is going to be a pretty interesting one....What does his role look like in the near future?
Victor: That is an ancient chinese secret!
Victor: We don't know more than 3 weeks in advance what our character is going to be doing.
Victor: Right now he is up to his same old stuff. I'm interested to find out myself.

three_teriyaki asks: would you ever want to pursue a movie career?
Victor: I have a super small scene in a movie coming out, but absolutely. I would love to do that.
Matt: Yes.

MandaManda_faithgirl asks: What is the most embarrasing thing that ever happened to you?
Matt: Embarrassing? No.
Victor: No, nothing so far, but I'm hoping to! I need a memory for the scrapbook.

lillmama143 asks: Matt will you come sing in the shower for me? LOL
Matt: Gimme the address!
Victor: Be careful!

Lanora24 asks: Who are your favorite actors?
Victor: You always remember when you are not being asked the question. DeNiro, Julia Roberts, Kevin Spacey, who else? I love Morgan Freeman.
Victor: There are many more.
Matt: Edward Norton is doing a fantastic job. I've always liked Andy Garcia, Al Pacino, Jennifer Lopez...
Matt: She's a great entertainer. and Julia Roberts.

Rthtodd asks: What is the atmosphere like on the set now that Sally Sussman-Morina is out as the head writer and Lorraine Broderick is in?
Victor: Who are these people?
Matt: Atmosphere really hasn't changed.
Victor: I haven't noticed any change. Everybody is professional and does their job. We aren't involved face to face. I don't expect anything down the road.

PFC_Michaels asks: how do you feel about to be looked at as a sex symbol and the minute you get old and wrinkly that you might lose your job?
Victor: I am old and wrinkly! It is a mask I wear to work!
Victor: People who look strictly at the surface are people you don't want to be associated with.
Victor: Age comes and there is nothing you can do about it but accept it gracefully.
Matt: I think you relish in the moment while you can be the sex symbol, might as well live it up a little.
Victor: Livin' la Vida Loca!
Matt: But at the same time, work on your craft so when you're old you can still be hired for your talent

Luv_Sweet_Berry asks: What type of flowers would you give to your date???
Matt: I'd give her the rose, man!
Victor: If I could only choose one flower I would choose a casablanca lily. Or a tropical arrangement with a lot of colors and fragrances.

three_teriyaki asks: do you know how to cook?
Victor: Yes, I use to work as a cook. It was one of many jobs on my way to becoming an actor.
Matt: I was never a chef, but I can cook. I'm cooking tonight.
Victor: What time should I be there.

Gyps14 asks: how old were you when you got your first kiss?
Victor: I have two answers when I kissed a girl I thought was attractive. My first kiss was under the neighbor's palm tree. I was six years old and she taught me what a french kiss was.
Matt: I think I was about 6 or 7 as well.
Matt: Nobody was teaching me the french kiss.

Spartus1999 asks: Are you working with any charities?
Victor: Yes, I do. I work with many children abused women and animal charities.
Matt: There's a charity for the animals called PETA I'm working with.

silverdolphin84 asks: What are your hidden talents?
Matt: I'm a comedian.
Victor: I can blow air out of my tear ducts!

Baroness_Raven asks: Are either of you religious or spiritual at all?
Matt: Spiritual, yes. I haven't practiced religion since I was young, but spiritual.
Victor: I'm an extremely spiritual person. I believe in philosophy. I think religion is a good thing for people. As long as it teaches people to be good and stay on a righetous path.

Jenny_Lynn_15 asks: What is the most memorable gift you have every gotten?
Victor: The gift of acceptance. When I was first coming into high school one of the most popular kids in high school took me under his wing a little bit. It is important to treat everybody as an equal. The gift of happiness is the best thing you can do.
Matt: My red Schwinn dirt bike when I was 8 years old.

homegurl_13_99 asks: what kind of designer clothes do u were?
Victor: K-mart blue light special...No I don't really look at the labels. Whatever looks good.
Matt: I don't have a specific label. I like Calvin Klein, though. It makes some cool clothes.

guam_girl97 asks: Do you try to respond to your fan mail?
Matt: Of course!
Matt: I love to hear from the fans. I read every one of my letters.
Victor: I read and respond to every single one of my letters. E-mail from my site, I don't always get the chance to check it.
Victor: Thank you for your time, sorry if we couldn't get to everybody and all of their questions. I'm sure SoapCity will have us back again. I'd love to do it. WEBSTER OUT?
Added March 16, 2000 from Soap Star Magazine Online

Color us stunned. Victor Webster, who plays the dashing Nicholas on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, will be soon switching from contract status to recurring. Webster, the former model who took daytime by storm a little more than a year ago, was recently told by the show's producers that Nicholas would go on recurring status as of April 13. Most soap fans know that prior to being let go altogether, many actors are put on recurring.

Celebrity Mailbag

Since Victor Webster's character on Days of Our Lives has been bumped from contract to recurring status, will Victor be leaving the show? Even though Nicholas isn't that great of a character, I thought Victor was doing an excellent job!

Being bumped from contract to recurring does not mean the end of Webster's run as Nicholas Alamain. The change means the audience won't be seeing as much of Victor, but he still will be an intricate part of the Salem community. Before landing his role on Days, Victor played a bartender on the now defunct Sunset Beach.

Mitch Longley will be leaving his role as Dr. Matt Harmon on 'Port Charles'

"Days of Our Lives" fans want to know why Victor Webster (Nicholas) has been dropped from his contract for a recurring role on the soap. Executive producer Ken Corday said it was a difficult decision to make, but refrained from saying why it was acutally made. There's no doubt that fans like Webster, although many who have written to me say they don't like his story line with Kate (Lauren Koslow). Apparently, they can buy the older women-younger man angle only if it's, as one reader put it, "clearly a love story and not smarmy."

Versatile Hunk Victor Webster Hits His Stride: 'Days Of Our Lives' Star Talks About Rise To Fame

Webster's Definition
We meet at the ultra-posh Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel. It's a warm day and we find a cool spot outside on the spacious garden patio. Victor Webster recently wrapped his role as Nicholas Alamain on the NBC daytime drama "Days of Our Lives." Standing 6 feet 3 inches, with smoldering Latin good looks, it's easy to see why he was a daytime favorite. But there's more to this guy than just good looks; he's a man with big dreams. It was a dream that started to take shape when Webster got national attention on "Days" just a year and a half ago. "I went in on a call (for the role of Brandon), auditioned, and was originally turned down," Webster tells me.

But in true Hollywood style, the story doesn't end there. The producers were so impressed with the young actor that they created the role of Nicholas Alamain for him. Was he a "Days" fan before joining the cast? Webster says that he hadn't followed the popular show before he auditioned for it. In fact, Webster rarely watches any television even to this day. Having recently opted out of the show to pursue other opportunities, Webster says he enjoyed working on "Days" and found that the show's intense schedule provided an excellent training ground for his acting -- and memorization -- skills. "(Recently) I shot five episodes in one day -- 65 pages of dialogue in one day, 31 scenes," he says.

Action Figure
"I used to deliver papers and bundle up in 10 layers (of clothing). It would be so cold there that if your skin was exposed for more than, like, three minutes, it will get frostbitten." Webster is talking about growing up in his native Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Webster didn't get frostbitten, but he couldn't escape the bite of the acting bug. He tells me that he's always been an actor at heart. "When I was a little kid, I used to pretend I was everybody but Victor. I was always 'James Bond Victor' or 'Batman Victor,' or 'super' something," he says.
....
Avenue of the Stars
Webster says he appreciates his role on "Days of Our Lives" because it opened doors for him.
"It's an avenue," he says. "It was a slingshot to help propel me into what I want to do."
....
Closing Arguments
"I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of what I want to do," Webster tells me about his career. "There's only one thing in my life, and it's going to be acting."

As if to emphasize the point, he shows me the window of his cell phone. It reads: "There is no Plan B."

Everyone knows someone with Webster's looks and personality is bound to turn up on the screens of daytime television. Webster's role as the handsome troublemaker Nicholas Alamain on Days of Our Lives seems to have been created just for him. "Nicholas is right up my alley," Webster says. "He creates problems for bad guys. He's a good guy who does evil things to the bad guys. I love it!"

Live Wire: Mutant X's Victor Webster tells Bryan Cairns why he doesn't want his character to become a sex symbol. Some hope!

His presence, and no doubt good looks, then caught the attention of NBC's Days of Our Lives where he remained for a year before notching up roles in the AMC's series The Lot, the recent TV movie The Chippendale Murder, and the feature film Gangland.
....
But one thing he doesn't want to be is a sex sypmbol, though he doesn't have much choice. As Nicholas Alamain on Days of Our Lives, Webster had his fair share of seduction, lip-locking, and steamy bedroom antics.

Victor Webster :: Melrose Place’s new gay hottie
by Jim Halterman Wednesday Sep 23, 2009

EDGE: Was the daytime soap world good training ground for you as an actor?
VW: It was incredible. We were doing 30 pages dialogue in a day and that was a great exercise for the brain. Some of those actresses...I remember I was doing a scene with Deidre Hall (who played Marlena) and she asked the director ’How many tears do you want and from what eye do you want them from?’ I was like ’Are you for real?’ and she let two tears come from her eye that was closest to the camera. It was unbelievable.

Victor Webster interview
8th June 2012

Gilles Nuytens: You've done many things before becoming an actor, from stock broker to company owner, so what made you decide to change and start acting?
Victor Webster: Well, I think I just was confused with what I wanted to do in life you know, I was all over the place, I was travelling all over the world, doing some modeling, I was teaching martial arts, I sold shoes, I just had no idea what I wanted to do. So I got back from a trip to Italy, I was there for about 8 months and said to myself: you know I wanna take some acting classes to help me out with commercial auditions, cause I wanna do some commercials while I'm gonna figure out what I wanna do with my life. And then I started doing some commercials and I really was enjoying the acting classes and I was thinking, wow this could be fun if I could do this. This is not easy, so I really did not think it was a possibility for me and then my commercial agent sent me out on a couple soap opera auditions and I ended up booking one of those and just started acting from then on. It was kind of crazy.

Gilles Nuytens: For how many time did you had acting classes?
Victor Webster: I had done some theatre classes at school, I had taken theatre classes in college but I never seriously entertained the idea but when I was a kid I was always pretending I was somebody different. Every day it seemed I'd be dressing up as a superhero, a secret agent or a cowboy and I would totally go into character, so it’s something that I loved doing from a young age, I just never thought I'd make a living of it. So once I started taking the acting thing seriously, I had taken a lot of classes and I was working with an acting coach and I really jumped in with both feet and took it very seriously because in this business you just can't just hope for the best and think you're gonna become successful, you actually have to work very hard.

Gilles Nuytens: How would you describe your first job as a full actor?
Victor Webster: Uhm really scary [laughs], I got cast in "Days of our Lives" and it was a contract role and I knew I was going to be in that show a couple years at least. The first day of my work Entertainment Tonight followed me to work, on my very first day, so there was a ton of added pressure, with the camera crew following me and me never done this kind of work before besides a few episodes of "Sunset Beach", 5 to 10 lines here and there but nothing serious, right. This was the first time I actually was on a show as a character. So I'd seen these people working and I watched the show before, you know, it's been on for so many decades, I was really nervous and when you watch my first couple days work you can really tell, I was really stiff, it was hard for me to get the dialog out.

Gilles Nuytens: It's not easy to start acting, unless you have a natural big talent or have a lot of good relations, so how difficult or easy was it to get your first job?
Victor Webster: I went to a lot of auditions before I got my first job and it was difficult, you have to be able to take the word no and not have it deeply effect you, you just let it roll of your skin, because in this business they can say no for so many different reasons and you have no idea what they are and if you take it personally, it's gonna destroy you as an actor; as a person, it will bring your confidence down and you can't let that happen, so no has to become a word that basically means "not right now" to you.

Exclusive Interview with Continuum Star Victor Webster: Victor Webster talks about his background, acting and season two of Continuum in this exclusive interview
Posted on: May 9 2013 by Robin

So how did Webster become an actor? “I used to do some modeling, so at that point, I thought I am going to try and do some commercials,” Webster said. Which is exactly what he did. Eventually, his agent booked him on a small role on the soap opera Days of Our Lives in 1999. Webster’s career as an actor was born. But just because he’s been acting for some time now does not mean he allows himself to rest on his laurels. “I take it very very seriously,” Webster said. “Much like a professional athlete, I am always working on it.”

Ex-'Days of our Lives' Star Victor Webster Takes Us into the 'Continuum'
By Paulette Cohn, About.com Guide

It is hard for daytime fans to forget Victor Webster even though it has been several years since he played Nicolas Alamain on Days of our Lives and the role was recast. There was a certain quality that Webster brought to the role that sticks in the mind.
...
Webster spoke with us from Vancouver, Canada, where the show films, to give us all the scoop on the Season 2 premiere, as well as reminisce about his time on Days of our Lives.

Continuum is a Syfy series. Did your Days of our Lives fans follow you to another genre?
-I get a lot of Days of our Lives fans on Twitter [@webstervictor]. I can figure out my fan base by the people on Twitter and what they say and the comments they make. There are quite a few daytime people who are still on board, following me. They are some of the most loyal fans out there since I have been on that show. I appreciate them.

What did working on Days of our Lives teach you about acting that stuck with you?
-I was on Days for about a year and a half. It was literally like boot camp. It was incredible the amount of dialogue we had to memorize. It really trained my brain to be able to bring in copious amounts of information and to be able to spew it out on screen. I think the last day that I worked, I was working on another show called The Lot at the same time I was working on Days, so I had to shoot all of my scenes on Saturday. I had 31 scenes and 75 pages of dialogue to do on a Saturday. We got it done in less than 6 hours and that is with me having to memorize all of the week's worth of work I was working on as well. Without that training, I doubt I would have been able to do that. They are some of the most talented actors. Sometimes in the past, I think they got a bad rap, but there are so many talented people. Sometimes when I am home, I will flip on the TV and watch to see how incredible some of these people are.

[-]Honeycone What was your first "big break" and how long did it take to get there (from when you started acting full time, if you ever did that before your big break)?
[-]VictorWebster[S] I don't know if my big break has happened yet. I've been working hard in the trenches for 15 + years. And I haven't had that one thing that propelled me. This business is a LOT of hard work. A lot of doors being shut in your face. And a lot of people saying you're not good enough. If you listen to any of that, it's easy to give up. On the other hand, i was very fortunate to land a role on DAYS OF OUR LIVES about 2 years after i started acting. And I've been acting full-time since. It hasn't been easy. I've been worried about being kicked out of my house for paying rent on numerous occasions, but luckily all that is behind me now.
