[Zhaneel tries text first, but it doesn't end well. Human-like though her feet may be, she cannot quite manage the tiny buttons; talons and that, you know. D: Well, no, Jael doesn't know this, but that's neither here nor there. :D
Her voice is soft as she speaks, knowing well what being new to this place is like.]
Welcome to Vertiline, Jael .. My name is Zhaneel and though I am not one of those responsible for your coming here, I have been here as one of their guests for several months. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have if I am able..
[Be happy, Jael .. this is the most she's spoken in several weeks.]
[Her feathers rise and flatten again, a soft breath escaping past her beak. Her tone is perhaps a bit sad as she responds. Did someone special to her leave? Oh yeah. :(]
I know of no way to return home .. there have been those that have gone from here, but the circumstances of their return home have not been told to us. For now the best we can do, the lot of us, is help as needed ..
[She bobs her head 'yes' although Jael cannot see her.]
There have been a variety of creatures attacking the local population, we have been told .. There is a creature within the fog .. [She shivers.] Do not venture into the fog by yourself, Jael. We do not know what the creature is, but it will kill. There have been cockatrices .. a pair of them .. about two months ago

You should be able to get food and clothes in the temple, though, and the capybara's harmless.

Will I need to pay for the food and clothing?

He also managed to look at past entries, so he at least has some idea of what's going down.]
It's called Vertiline, I believe.
I don't know where Spyridion is, so I can't help with that.
My name is Jin.

I've never heard of a place called Vertiline. Spyridion was the city I was in, but if you haven't heard of it, I must be very far from home.
It's nice to meet you Jin.

[And wherever this place is, it kind of makes him feel like crap.
But that's because all of his powers are gone! (Except he doesn't know that yet).]
It's nice to meet you, too, Jael.
I'm searching through past entries made on these... devices. If you require specific information I might be able to find something for you.

I'm mostly just concerned with getting home, but no one else seems to know how either.

Several months? So, I guess there's no way for me to get home...
Someone told me we were here to help against some sort of threat? Do you know what we're supposed to fight?

So, people just arrive and leave randomly?
[There's a tiny bit of hope blooming, but she's just going to ignore that for now.]
Sounds frightening. Don't worry, I don't think I'll be wandering off by myself any time soon, but I will gladly accept your help!
[She hasn't quite processed that Zhaneel isn't talking about walking around. That's going to be fun.]
