yesterday was really fun because akira and i went to see a movie, that new superman one. it was okay but i think i like the original superman movies, the ones from the 80's, more. if it isn't broken, why fix it? the special effects were pretty cool, though, and it was dark in the theater... dark enough so that i don't think anyone else in the ( Read more... )

i hope we do, because it really was fun. you're fun to be with, and fun to go to movies with, and fun to eat ice cream with. you're also really good at videogames and beat me most of the time, but that's okay because you're fun to play against, and i also like touching you.

The new movie was cool, though parts were a bit cliched. And really, couldn't they have at least made sure that Clark's eyes were blue in every scene, especially when the camera was focused directly on them? Idiots.

well of course it's going to be cliched, aren't all stories of good and evil? especially ones with superheros and super-villains and maidens in distress (maidens being in distress is such a horrible cliche, i think - it's really quite sexist. why aren't men ever in distress? men get distressed, too).

i suspect laziness on the part of the film editors or effects people or whoever it is that is in charge of things like that. not for the distress cliche, the blue eyes thing.

The best superhero movie I've ever seen wasn't actually a movie, but a 1940s serial of Batman and Robin.

was it adorably and amusingly corny? i can't say that i've ever seen it, but those sort of things are usually adorably corny, like old disney cartoons and the like. i didn't even know batman and robin went back that far, how interesting.

It was very amusing and yes, corny. I think it was the original cliche, actually. And one of the first productions. I didn't know they went that far back either until I got a copy a year ago.

The originality of it has ruined almost every other superhero movie for me.
