Eames had made a promise to himself that he would do this. A promise made in a dream, when life seemed off and odd and more than a little crooked. Yet he could see the reality of it, of what he should do even if he wasn't sure he should want to.

It was what brought him to Hillside that day rather than getting on the next plane back to ... Hell, any plane was in his mind but he'd forced himself to make his way to the cemetery, even before he went to see Cobb. No, not Cobb. The kids. Her kids.

Pausing when he heard music, coming over the rise and seeing the last thing he'd expected.

"Sonofa..." He paused then, considering taking off for the airport and risking he'd dealing with his own projections again. Instead he moved down the hill towards her grave.

He realizes someone is there soon enough, that they don't move on means if could only be one of several people, (He'd already notified the groundskeeper of what he would do, so it's not as if someone was there to clear him out) who knew both Mal, and himself.

He almost misses the next few notes at this realization, but continues until the piece is finished before turning around. That it's Eames has him quickly putting everything away, he'll rather leave now than make a scene, especially not here.

He wanted to make instant accusations, to demand answers he hadn't asked for during the Fischer job. Instead he thought of the dream, of the house and the Arthur that hadn't been Arthur he faced. He held up his hand.

"Don't." He kept his distance, shaking his head. "Stay. I'll come back," he offered, trying to swallow down the pain he'd felt in finding Arthur there at her graveside.

He shakes his head with a slight frown. I'm done here, he signs after setting the case down. It's not like this will be the last time he visits, in Eames's case, for all he knows he'll be here today and gone the next.

He's no stranger to grief, and everyone pays their respect their own way.
