A few weeks ago, I bought a Dell Mini 9 from ghostfaceposta; it arrived Tuesday. I was kind of busy, so I didn't get around to poppin' Ubuntu on that sucker until today.* I'm really impressed so far - Ubuntu runs smoothly, including nice smooth compiz graphics, and the audio jack is 1000% better-sounding than the crackly, crappy one on my Dell Dimension ( Read more... )

Yeah, that thing is sweeeet! I'm amazed at how much nicer it is than my old Asus - aside from the nice A/V I mentioned, it's got as much RAM as my desktop machine and 2 cores.

Totally and utterly subjectively and non-quantitatively, I find the 1.6ghz hyperthreaded Atom a bit "smoother" for desktop-y stuff than the 1.4ghz non-hyperthreaded single core Core 2 Solo in the Acer Aspire 1410 I replaced it with.
