I've bought a few new books:

The Secret Message of Jesus (underlined here, if I could)
and

The History of God (underlined as well, if I could)

The first was recommended by my new Pastor, the second, I found while cruising the religion aisle at Borders. The History of God might prove to be interesting: it's about Christianity, Judaism and Islam, and how all three religions stemmed from one, and how they parted in their ways. 4,000 years of God in the making.

Have you read it? (The History of God?)

no, i haven't read it, but i'm pretty familiar with the whole family tree concept concerning Yaweh/Jesus/Allah and all that.
i don't mean to bust on your taste in lit, but they sound kinda boring, which is just my opinion. if you want a great book about Christianity, pick up "Elmer Gantry." one, it's really well written, two, there's lots of drinking and soul searching, three, it's satisfyingly subversive, and four, your pastor probably wouldn't recommend it.
