I haven't tried PSP hacking personally, but there is a lot of information here. Check it out. It tells you how to downgrade your firmware.

Generally, if things break you can always put the official Sony firmware back. Like I said, I haven't tried it personally, but I know that one of the major concerns among the homebrew community is to have the ability to revert all of the changes that you made to your PSP in order to run homebrew apps back to the official setup.

Speaking of which, what are you planning on doing with access to the hardware, anyway?

I just checked the pertinent link. Turns out the board is currently down. Oopsies.

Also, you should note that you shouldn't try to downgrade below 2.50 or else you'll brick. Once again, haven't tried but this is what I have read in a few places.

1.5 is what is used to run all homebrew. its compatible with every form of it.

im just looking to mainly play ps/console games.
