Reclaiming My Voice

I ride the subways after work,
not lost, just transferring,
one train to the other
in the hopes of picking up
my pen again, and finding
something more than
numbered equations to
balance my checkbook.

I come home later than
expected, than I said
and he asks, quietly,
disarmed,
"Where were you?"

"Train delays"

this is patrice / _onlysky_ / pattie/ _tiny by the way.

not just some stranger who is using the same userpic and finding her friends.

In the hopes reclaiming the parts of myself I can actually bear - that I even sometimes adore - I'm back.

I have no clue where to begin.
