I am delight to say (subject to references, and so on) I have a job to go to - I am going to be the Administrator for the Heritage Crafts Association. I thought it was an excellent fit for me / where I want to go, and so did they, so Hurrah! Little Muuranker will not starve!

Where's that "like" button? All the best for your new job, as I'm just about to start mine (though I've only had to move about three yards from the previous one!).

Thank you! I can't find that "like" button either - really pleased that you won't have to live on porridge, either (or perhaps you like porridge?)

Porridge is a wonderful thing. But maybe not for all meals.

Belated congratulations. It does look like a very good match for you. It was odd, looking at their website, to see a transcript of a keynote speech made at one of their events by someone whose friends and family I know very well indeed. I got that weird dislocated feeling you get when two very separate parts of your world suddenly get juxtaposed.

When do you start? :D

Thank you - I start on 11th February. I will still be doing a few days for Surrey after that, to get the new Heritage Strategy through its final re-draftings.

I am not suprised to find that there are so few degrees of separation between us through the HCA, but as you say, it can be weird when you find out that the world is not sticking to the compartments where you allocted it.
