Most of us have been called up for jury duty at some point. First there's the ominous letter in the mail, then the cavalcade of fool-proof methods for getting out of it. Erik was only slightly entertained by the fact that you were on the jury for this case. Other friends of mine were shocked that you were kept on the jury since he knew you.

What was the verdict?

Heh. If every time a juror in the case recognized someone else, we would have burned through at least three jurors in that case alone. It's apparently very common. All that happens is the judge and attorneys question you about how you know the person, and if the connection is casual or social, it's no big deal.

In this case, too, Erik's testimony was extremely peripheral - I'm frankly surprised he was actually called up as a witness at all.
