Trip Post (2 of 2)

Yay! We finally have our intarwebz back! I really didn't mean to leave you hanging like that, koralleen!

I woke up way before everyone else and helped myself to a book to read for a while before Ezra got up and sat and talked with me for a while. Soon enough, everyone was awake and we had bagels and coffee for breakfast. Things were definitely starting to wind down, but in a very pleasant way.

Most of the day was spent hanging out and doing things like playing Boggle or Scrabble or ping pong, save for the few of us who piled into Ezra's truck [once again] for a trip to the treehouse.

Oh, hey! There it is!

I'd planned on leaving no later than about 1500 that afternoon, but I kept getting yelled at every time I tried to get ready to leave. "No! You haven't had lunch yet!" and "C'mon! Just one more round of Boggle!" and finally, "No! You haven't had dinner yet! You can't drive without dinner!". I felt quite loved, but really, I had to get to work on Monday.

More random pictures! Woohoo!

Ezra's tuner

See that blue bead in Dana's hair? That's one of my Turkish blue beads from rrainew.

I was far, far too amused by the rotary phone with the answering machine.

Squirt!

Jeb being all Jeb-like. I have to put her here because she put me in her MySpace slideshow =-).

I finally set out around 2030 or so and stopped for gas in Prarie Grove, at which point I had a rather amusing run-in with one of the town's finest because of a faulty headlight. It's a much better in-person story. I took a different route home (on Ezra's recommendation), and ended up driving Northward through Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and finally Maryland. It was extremely boring, and as soon as I take over the world, Illinois and Tennessee are getting blown off the damned map. What boring places.

This shit save my life. Thank you, Monster, for finally making an energy drink that doesn't taste like carbonated ass.

While driving through St. Louis at about 0300, I had a fine view of the Arch from the highway, but there was no shoulder on the road and I couldn't stop for a picture. It looks pretty darn cool at night, though. Oh well. I really don't have much to share about the trip home other than the fact that it was hella boring by myself, and since I was already kind of tired, I just started stopping at everything that looked interesting. However, since it was a Sunday in the Bible Belt, almost everything was closed. But I did get to stop at Jellystone Park for a picture of Yogi bear.

And I *finally* got my Waffle House breakfast!

I stopped in Columbus briefly to possibly have sushi at the conveyor belt sushi place, but it was closed. I did go to the North Market, though, and I spotted this painting on my way back to the highway

After my few minutes in Columbus, it was seriously time to . I was hoping to be there no later than 2100 or so, but that really, really, really didn't happen I rolled into the driveway at 2330, called Ezra to let him know I was home, and passed the hell out.

Things I Wish I'd have Taken Pictures Of:

1.) Missouri has way too many...erm... "adult" toy stores. There's one every mile, practically. I did spot one in the same shopping center as Grace Covenant Christian Bookstore, though.

2.) "Missouri Hick BBQ", "JT's Redneck Grill: Good Eatin'!", and "The Rocking Chair Diner"

I had an awesome time.

I can hardly wait till next year, but someone is coming with me, goddamnit!
