Alone isn't the most appealing of states to be in all the time. Humans are very much social creatures and even people who don't do as well with the physical communicatory act thrive with the more detached, literary-based communications that make up the community of the Internet. *hugs* I hope that you can find that one person Michael. You deserve it to say the least. I wonder, was I the suicidal one mentioned above? Ah well. I hope you are doing well. I am looking forward to seeing you again at Gen-Con. The hotel room should be nice! We will have to have breakfast, or dinner together again. I hope that even though I know you are lonely, that you are still finding happiness in the small things. I think you should build a sand castle for me =) Since I am no where near a beach, then take a picture and send it to me :) Could be fun. E-mail me, or post on my journal. I am back in Toronto again. *hugs*

so, um, what if the girl asks you on a date?

I mean, some girls (like me as a random example) have histories of asking the boys out themselves instead of waiting to be asked...

No, seriously. This was a beautiful post. It brought up a lot of really strong feelings in me, especially considering what I posted only a few minutes before reading it.

...

My unsolicited advice: don't get your heart too set on there being just one person. Finding the first one is probably the hardest, but that doesn't mean you have to keep that one forever in order to be happy. Besides, Queen said "Just one year of love is better than a lifetime alone," and I agree. Go for experience and aliveness over perfection (yeah, like I can talk - but my intentions are good, really!). You probably don't need this advice, but oh well. There it is.

And BTW... have I asked you yet how you feel about polyamory?

Love,

Rhia
