Alas, I cannot. It's a Bible, and it looks like rather a nicely printed one, but I can't say anything beyond that.

Oh. I forgot that LiveJournal renames the pictures, so you wouldn't know that the file was named centaur.jpg. Guess that makes it much more difficult.

It was a photo of Bruce Rogers' masterwork, the Oxford Lectern Bible. Yes. I had a copy in my collection. Not in the best of condition, for sure, but a copy nonetheless of one of the most beautiful Bibles ever printed. The binding was in need of major repair or rebinding. And it had clearly been used in a church for quite a while - pen marks, ashes, and the like.

I realized that it needed a new home. I was doing a bit of research, on google, when I noticed that the National Library of Australia was looking for a copy. I contacted them and made an offer. They requested more information, so I sent them a large group of photos and an extensive description. A month later, when I had almost forgotten, they responded that they definitely watned to purchase it ( ... )
