I'm having a similar crisis. As of now my solution consists of loading myself up with every music option Tufts has to offer and pretending I'll minor in music, even though I know it's not really viable. I also noticed that Longy was not mentioned in there.

I just saw you, but I'll say this here anyway.

I really think that if money is your concern, that's a silly one. If you study anything hard enough, you can always teach at a high level and make a very decent paycheck. If you devote the next 8 years of your life to music and get a masters and doctorate in it, you will be able to get a good job teaching, it's that simple.

As far as composition goes, that's something I don't think you can learn as well and something you really have to personally cultivate. But if you really think it's your thing, you're doing yourself a serious diservice by not listening to yourself, bceause it'll just resurface at a later point in life. I think you're a talented, passionate musician, and you should focus on it if that's what you want.
