Since I've caught up watching Survivor and South Park, I've turned to watching a couple episodes of the Real World: San Franisco, which were all recently put up on MTV's website free of charge. I haven't watched any old episodes of the Real World since probably the late 90's so it's a complete trip to be reminded of what the TV show was like then. ( Read more... )

MTV's Real World WAS the first 'reality' series. There was a few PBS mini-series before that, but they started the big wave that changed prime time.

I watched ALL of the first 12 or so seasons, but then something happened. It must be what you pointed out. the warehouse setting. the too beautful cast. and at first, there was no sex. once they started 'hooking up' on a regular basis...I got bored. (maybe I just grew up? naw...)

do they have the first season up also?...I would like to see that, just to check out the contrast from then to now.

are you back state-side?
I loved sharing the journey! thanks!
