That's brilliant - and very sad. Remus does seem to be better suited to Lily than James is. He's so noble here it makes mean bit weepy.

This is really beautiful. I love the easy banter between Lily and Remus, and the conversation between Lily and her friends, and how it all points in the direction that Lily and Remus are perfectly suited to each other. And Remus's "sad smile" and the "pain in his voice," as well as the last paragraph, made my heart break for them. Very nicely done.

Oh, I love Remus for being so loyal to James, but I do feel for him and Lily. You really portrayed them as such great friends here. Makes me wonder how things might have played out if they'd gotten to together.
