Oh, this was so sweet and lovely. I can believe things happening just like this, and I'm sure James' only beef would be that it took them ten years to figure things out. :)

This is a relationship I hadn't considered at all, but you've done a nice job with it. I really like how they become a family without even realizing it--they love Harry, they love each other, it just makes sense. And I love this part so much: "Sirius nodded, cupping her cheek with one hand. Her skin was soft. He knew that. He knew her bedtime routine with her skin softening charms and anti-aging potions. For weeks, she would wake up in gasping sobs in the middle of the night because her husband was gone, dead, gone!, and she couldn’t handle it. For weeks they had slept in the same bedroom, taking turns getting up in the middle of the night with Harry." Such a lovely way to describe the intimacy that comes out of all this. I agree with eprime--I think James would be pleased with how things turned out : )

This is a really interesting AU. It makes sense. I love how present Harry is in this fic - even though it is his very absence which is the catalyst for the development of their relationship.
