there're no urges (er...what kind're we talkin' about here?)

Name/Nickname: Di
Age: 19

Likes: Lessee...I like video games, reading (books and manga), drawing, writing, acting (I love acting), listening to music, just thinking for no reason, sex (did I say that?), but my friends most of all, they mean a whole lot to me. Oh, and the beach and the ocean, I love them. There's nothing like spending the day there and watching the sun set.
Dislikes: Hypocrites, close-minded people, and food. I don't have an eating disorder...but I dislike eating food anyway.

Strong points: I'm quite honest. If you want to hear an unbiased opinion, just ask me. I'm also sincere and, to those who've earned it, I'm quite nice. I'm also pretty perceptive, even if I seem spaced out or aloof. I'm also independant, and I do things my way and I have my own opinions. I guess I'm just like this on the whole because I had to be strong on my own, without holding on to others for support. Things would've been much harder for me if I hadn't. I'm also kind of the one people go to for advice, so I learned to just tell the truth even if it hurts.
Weaker points: Even if I don't show it, I can be pretty over-sensitive. I can take criticism to heart at times. I have really really low self-esteem. I'm also pretty rebellious, I cross the line a lot, and I don't really listen to authority, which has gotten me into loads of trouble. >_> I'm also really stubborn, and kinda lazy too. On the whole, I'm like this as a result of before I figured out I had to be strong for myself and just took everything as they came. I'm stubborn and I don't listen because I'm not the type to just say whatever's on my mind, people rarely know what I'm thinking, and this goes for my aloofness too. I guess I just don't want to hand out my trust so easily.

What is something you'd change about yourself?: Hmm. Well, I think one thing I would definitely change about myself is the way I perceive myself. I know that I'm not an entirely screwed up person and that there are people who definitely like me for me, but I always think that I've screwed up somehow, even if I haven't. 'Course, no one notices because this is stuff that happens in my head. I rarely express it. I guess I would just give myself more self-esteem. I already have enough confidence, too much I think.

Hobbies & Talents: Hobbies, well, I like to crochet on occasion, and I like sketching. But my special talents are acting, writing and playing guitar. I half-wish I could sing, but I'll be taking lessons someday soon. I think it'd be fun to sing and play guitar.

Favorite colors: Hot pink and black ftw!
Favorite foods: I don't really like anything in particular anymore. Well, cheesecake's good. Oh, and anyone try sweet and sour chicken? Now that's good Asian cooking.
Mature or Immature?: Mature when need be, but overall, I'm still a pretty immature person.
Leader or Follower?: Leader. I prefer giving the orders.
Optimistic or Pessimistic?: Optimistic, not everything's so bad in life.
Day or Night Person? I like nighttime far more than the daytime usually.
Social or more aloof? I'm socially aloof, does this make sense? I mean, I've got a pretty large social group and I hang out and stuff, but my head's in the clouds usually.

Favorite quote & why?: There's more beauty in the truth, even if it is dreadful beauty. The storytellers at the city gate twist life so that it looks sweet to the lazy and the stupid and the weak, and this only strengthens their infirmities and teaches nothing, cures nothing, nor does it let the heart soar." John Steinbeck, East of Eden

I like this most because most people in life would rather have pretty lies instead of the truth, which is sometimes not so pretty. In my opinion, the truth, even if it's not always pretty, is a lot better than a fake, plastic lie. And sometimes, the truth at its most bare can be far more pleasing to the eyes than anything fake and manufactured, and I wish more people would understand that. It takes a lot of courage to face the truth, but in the end, at least you're getting the real thing.
What is the last book you've read?: I reread John Steinbeck's East of Eden for the umpteenth time.

What are your goals and ambitions: The main ones? Make it big as an actress, writer and rock star. Along the way, I'd like to fall in love and get married. And my ultimate goal is to be happy.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?: With a book or two published, a few films underway, in a steady relationship and having the time of my life.

What are your closest friends like?: They're all quirky and unique and different. I'm not really fond of the mundane, so I like all sorts of people, and my closest friends are no different. We share similar interests, but in terms of personality and who we are on the inside, we're completely different. I also look for loyal people, and people who're honest to themselves.
How do your friends decribe you?: Weird, aloof, kind, crazy, fucked up, a good friend...these're just some.
When you’re in a group, what's your part in the group dynamic?: Depends. I'm either the accomplise or I'm the leader. I'm the accomplise if the group's big, and I'm the leader if the group's big or small but the "default" leader isn't around.
What was the stupidest thing you and your friends have ever done?: Burst out laughing in a Burger King driveway, drive up to pick up our orders still laughing, and we couldn't answer the employee when he asked us if we were high. Other stupidest thing was spazzing out in the car in a three hour traffic jam, and recording some parts on our cellphones, and later posting it all over the Internet. I dunno, we've done a lot of stupid things.

What are your feelings towards each of the four houses?:

Gryffindor- These guys are the brave, loyal ones. Hufflepuffs are loyal too (more on that in a bit), but a Gryffindor's loyalty stems from the fact that they will stick by those they see are true to themselves more than anything. In that same vein there, Gryffindors stand and fight for what they believe when they see it necessary. Gryffindors will defend themselves and others in any kind of situation, basically.

Ravenclaw- They're the smart, fast-witted ones. I'm sure that if we stuffed all four houses in one room to take an SAT, Ravenclaws would score higher then everyone else. However, it's not just brute intelligence. They're also gifted at using their intelligence to their (and other people's) benefits. Ravenclaws are also the ones that think things through...they're not rash in their actions.

Hufflepuff- The hard-workers and loyal ones are here. Now, the way Hufflepuffs are loyal is that, because they're hard workers, they'll stick together till they get the job done. I'd say they're best in teamwork. It's also their hard working nature that pulls them through most anything else, since they'll work to achieve goals and talents. I think these guys also value trust quite a lot.

Slytherin- Now, these guys are the clever ones. They'd be the ones to easily skirt problems and hassles, and instead will look for a much easier (and more efficient way) around things. They'll also stick together, but this is more out of shared ideals rather then loyalty or hard work. Also, Slytherins will be the ones to judge a given situation and decide what course of action's best, even if it means leaving a friend behind. Logic will mostly outweigh personal feelings.

Describe the house qualities that you feel accurately reflect you. Please try to include traits from each of the four houses.: Ah, let’s see here. I’ll go down the list. A Gryffindor quality I have is unwavering loyalty to those who’ve earned it in my eyes, and unless I’m given a pretty good reason to, I sure as heck won’t let you down or betray you. A Ravenclaw quality I have is that is using the intelligence I have. I’ve been known to be really creative and come up with solutions in unorthodox situations quite a few times. A Hufflepuff quality I have is that I work well in teams, and when it comes down to it, it’s all for one in order to get the job done right. Finally, a Slytherin quality I think I have is my ability to avoid problems when necessary. No need to fight if it’s a waste of time.
Given the choice, which house would you NOT want to be in?: This is kinda hard for me because I have qualities from all for places I think. But, I think Ravenclaw would be it for me. Out of all the houses, I think I'm least like them. Sure I'm smart, but that's really it. I'm too aloof compared to the sharp minds there (I am generalizing of course), and overall, I probably just wouldn't fit in well.

Anything else?: Ice cream is awesome.
How did you find this community?: I think in someone's userinfo. I forgot who's now.

Pictures. Or a description of yourself.
