And yes, you'll pick up a lot of stuff with time and experience. Once you DO have a car, I recommend just taking it for a long drive, going nowhere in particular, just loosening up and getting used to the idea of being behind the wheel. :)
listen to phil, dahlink. he's totally spot-on with this; it's the best best way to 1. become a better driver, because the only way you get there is time behind the wheel. much like pilots and hours of flight time. 2. you become more familiar with your car, and the more familiar you are with what it can do and what it feels like under different road conditions, the better and safer driver you are.
