Well, the tramadol seems to be working pretty well for the neuropathy. I wasn't sure, but then it wore off. This is good news, since my appointment in the Rheumatology Clinic isn't until mid-June. Also, though tramadol is not really a first- (or even a second-)line treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, it has the distinct advantage of carrying a much ( Read more... )

One thing you'll want to watch out for is signs of sertonin syndrome... Tramadol mixed with other drugs that act on serotonin can cause issues. Saying that I was on a high dose of Venlafaxine and Tramadol at the same time and had no problems.

Yeah, I was really hoping that my pharmacy would catch this and call him to request a different drug, but maybe they figured I'm safe since I'm on topiramate. Obviously seizures are bad, but do you know what else I need to watch out for? We sort of thought I was having serotonin-overload issues back around 2002 between sertraline, buspirone, and trazadone. I was taking an assload of nitrazepam at the time, though, and thus did not have what I'd call "electrical" symptoms.
