tirani and dracoshen, remember how we felt old at the NIN show, thinking that some people in the audience might not have been born when Pretty Hate Machine was released? It's worse now. VH1 Classic just played "Head Like a Hole." I mean, it was nice, since I hadn't seen the video in years, but VH1? VH1 Classic??? Playing NIN? Now I feel old and confused.

Getting used to it. "Useless" rears its ugly head every now and again, too, but I beat it back as well as I can. ;)

Yeah, I know. I also shouldn't complain too much, because I know there are people on my flist that are older, but there are younger ones too, so it balances out. I just have trouble adjusting my world view sometimes.

Feeling young and feeling old

Most of my friends are my age or older. Nearly everyone at work is significantly older than me. As I mentioned in a recent entry, I got carded at a restaurant when I ordered wine with dinner (and restaurants here are frequently pretty lax about carding). So, in some contexts, I still feel fairly young.

However, one of the main "progressive rock" radio stations here, Alice, does a show called "Alice's Attic," where they play music from older albums. It is kind of strange to hear them playing songs from albums that I bought on their original release date. :)
