This Post Is Not Late, I Swear!

So, let's start with point number one from my last post...

Middle-Aged Diner Guy: Maine Diner?
Me: Huh, what? *realize I’m wearing my shirt from the Maine Diner* Oh, yeah, I went there once.
Diner Guy: Nice. I like diners. I’ve been to over 300 diners in the country. And I met This Guy, who’s written a book on diners, and This Other Guy who photographs diners.
Me: Oh... that’s cool. (thinking: I didn’t realize diners were just that interesting, but okay...)
DG: Yeah, I’d love to get together and talk diners with you sometime.
Me. Oh, well, I only went to the Maine Diner once, and, yeah...
DG: Okay. ...So, are you in school?
Me: No, I’m taking a year off.
DG: What’s your major?
Me: Actually, a year off after high school, so, ya know, before college.

And then the conversation kinda ended and the guy left, and I used the conversation to keep me mentally entertained for the rest of the day while I was working. Seriously, “I’d love to get together and talk diners sometime.” Unfortunately, I told Scott about it, so now I keep getting diner-fetish comments... :P

Point number two was about loving my job. There really isn't much of a story to that, just Jean specifically coming to me so I'll look over flyers and whatnot for help with phrasing and ideas, and Mary Ann stealthily really disliking the new director (and sekritly putting a post-it on the suggestion board that basically said "I want things back where they were before everything moved -- back where they should be"), and a bunch of the librarians just doing the whole "I don't know what we'd do without you" because I've been filling in a lot lately. :D It's nice being appreciated.

Lastly, oh gawd my parents. They currently have: a keyboard, a mouse, a power strip, and the power cord for my computer after realizing that after they take away the power strip I can still plug stuff into the wall outlet. I currently have: a keyboard, a tablet with a mouse, a wall outlet XD, and a spare power cord that usually would go to the external hard drive, because I'm just that amazing and lucky. Really, just... wow, my parents. Oh, and they also have my phone and phone charger, but I'm hoping they might cave on having my phone because I keep disappearing to go hang out with Scott/Satu/whoever and they can't contact me.

Anyway, yeah, tomorrow I plan on working on my room and actually being sorta good so they'll stop being so annoying.

So, if you have any interest in what I actually do with my time:
Thursday was work from 10 to 5, and included the awkward diner guy. Andrew picked me up from the library at five, and we were gonna go get Chinese food, but my house was having a sorta proper dinner, so he came over for that. We played with remotes for the new TV and DVD player and stuff, to see if we can consolidate so we don't have three or four hanging around. We managed to get it to, like, one and a half! As in one that controls the TV and cable, and one that controls the DVD player and cable. Heh. (That was the night of losing my power strip and needing to plug into the wall.)

Friday wasn't much, least not during the day. I slept in. :D Library 2:30-5, then home to find my compy's power cord gone, then realizing I had another one and could continue the silent battle with my parents, then watched Dollhouse, then went to Dunkin Donuts with Scott and Satu, with a visit to Katie. XD All in all, a fun day. I guess I kinda wish I'd decided to hang out with Andrew, Justine, and my cousin, since it was my cousin's only night free on his weekend home from college, but oh well. Driving around with Satu and Scott was still fun.

Saturday was library 10-5. Nothing exciting there, except that it was ridiculously nice outside, so we had the doors open, and I wished so bad to be able to go outside and enjoy hanging out without even a sweatshirt on. I did manage to go by Justine's and see her and Andrew during my lunch, though! Saturday night was the high school musical, Anything Goes. It was good, but not great, though I do think the leads did fantastic jobs. I got sorta mopey because I miss doing drama, and I wasn't that active in it during my senior year, and I wouldn't be able to go to the cast party or anything. I miss DPs soooo much. *whine* Plus, I totally awkwarded out this random kid who was there, which I sorta felt bad about afterward. My reasoning was that I was working and civil and on my feet for seven hours, and that pretty much automatically means that I'm hyper and crazy after. Post-library me is... *special*, to say the least.

Aaaand done. I'm gonna watch a movie! Because I have a whole stack from the library that are totally overdue. I love not getting late fines. :D
