It's amazing some folks survive to adulthood. So what does "salty" mean in this context?

Her definition of "salty" has always pretty much been "Anyone who disagrees with her, stands up to her, or says anything she disagrees with".

It's better to get it out yes, but that mother needs a REAL mother to sit her down and tell her why SHE is a shit for expecting an 8, 13, oreven an older teen to do HER job.

Nope, I do not like her my-name-is-Jenn,
She's the type of mother I CAN't stand.
To blame a child for her short-coming,
In me her value equals nothing...

Hugs and peace~~~

Oh, I know how that is. How do you correct an action when you have someone like a mother letting it happen openly? I agree that it was good that the narrator got to be salty about it, because the mom certainly isn't going to do much about that salt. Nicely written--I could see this all happening.

I am so sorry you grew up this way and so glad you managed that distance. And relieved to know she has somewhat understood the wrongness of her actions and words. I am happy that you survived that well.

I so get the salty reference here. ' My way or the highway ' kind of people in the family is disastrous.

This would be funny if it weren't so sad. It reminds me of an episode of "Long Lost Family" I just saw, where a girl was looking for her two younger brothers. They were separated by the foster care system when neighbors discovered that her mom was never home and she, a 10-year-old was taking care of them.
