Holy crap. That naked drunken party would have made me lose my shit. I have no willpower, though--I would have been back by one.

Seriously, what has been seen cannot be unseen. Ever. I still can't get those images out of my head fifteen years later.

I had no willpower until that moment. It's the reason she was convinced she could pull that on me, because up until that point, she could. But something in me clicked and I suddenly found myself with some willpower and went with it. :)

I loved the variety of birthday party invitations, but I especially loved the story of Kevin (teens always know) and the last one.
What an awful thing to do to someone, and then to expect a ride back? Give the girl credit for some nerve, but that's about it.

Kevin was an awesome guy.

That girl pissed me off so much that night, that for the first time in my life, I found myself with some willpower to say "no" and totally went with it.

These party invitations are something else. I had to wince at the $100 value gift invite. How awful! And the friend who just used you for a ride? Nah, she deserved to be grounded for that.

I remember the first one to this day. Even at eleven years old, I knew it was ridiculous. He came from a very wealthy family and was an only child. His parents spoiled him rotten. No idea whatever happened to him though.

She had every reason to think I would give her a ride because I was always bending over backwards for people at that time. That night though, something clicked in me and I found some willpower to say "no".

For realzies?! All of these invites were wrenching in their own way. Although, maybe I would have been one of the clowns!

I can say that I'm glad to have rarely attended parties when I read about things like this!

It's funny the things that stick with you decades after they happen. For some reason, I can remember those invitations perfect. Granted, the one for Elizabeth was last year, but the first two were when I was a kid.

Did anyone show up to Ben's party? With that blatant an ask on the invite I'd say no on principle.

Actually, I was one of the few who didn't show up. We went to an uber-wealthy private school with a class of about 40 students and he invited everyone. I'm pretty sure there were only three or four of us who didn't go.

Side note: Being the scholarship kid at an uber-wealthy private school SUCKS.
