first off, your posts are very vague and hard to follow a lot. second, i had my surgery date scheduled today for aug 20. i'm going to make a go of it and try to go to school for this fall and graduate this spring on time with my class. the surgeon says he's optimistic with my age and good health, but anything could happen. i'm planning to head back to school (with the doc's permission as well as my parents') on sept 10. i'll be in the hospital for 3-4 days. i'll have a brace to wear for 6 weeks and i can't drive for those 6 weeks. plus a bunch of other stuff that i'll tell you if/when we talk next. cheer up, kid. consider that things could be worse and you could be trapped by your own body's pain 24-7 for the next 5 weeks until a major spinal surgery with a tapering of the meds until virtually nothing strong for the 10 days up to surgery. what do i think of to cheer me up, you ask? jane's friend has non-surgical, terminal pancreatic cancer and her only hope is an experimental trial treatment. she's 51 and has two kids with her husband
