I really liked the attention to detail here; the use of the name Ariadne was especially interesting, because I kept imagining the Ariadne of Greek mythology and her role in the solution of King Minos' labyrinth.

Thank you! I love that myth, and thought the reference was interesting. Ariadne in this story seems to be the only one who sees the tower for what it really is. The story was meant to be a stand-alone, but I would imagine if the plot played out, she would probably be the only one to eventually figure out how to bring the tower (and the system keeping it in place) down for good.
