Why I love musicals...

If anyone is a fan of Les Miserables the musical you have to take the time to rent/buy/see the 25th Anniversary edition. It's awesome.

Val Jean is flawless, Javert is amazing and the rest of the cast holds its own. Except for one. Nick Jonas randomly invaded my world of Les Mis and almost ruined Marius. He looked constipated throughout the show. It was horrid. But Enjolas' casting was incredible so I tried focusing on him instead. But Nick Jonas aside. I really enjoyed it. I did find the lack of action in the show annoying though. The actors all stood by mics at the front of the stage and sung out to the audience which made it feel less like a play and more like a concert. That I have to say was quite disappointing. And to me one of the most iconic scenes in the musical is the waving of the flag, and since none of the actors actually moved from the mics we missed out on that.

Though the encore made the whole thing so much more incredible. Colm Wilkinson will always be Val Jean to me and seeing him sing 'Bring Him Home' just brought chills up my spine.

Fan-girl moment over. I love that musical. Don't know why, but I really really do. That's all.

Except.... Stay away from Les Mis Nick Jonas!!!!

Ok, I'm done.

I don't want to go to work tomorrow... blah.

And yes, my icon is from The Phantom of the Opera, but hey, I had none for Les Mis
