The presidential election is starting to worry me. I'm finding out that neither party represents me at all. When it comes to the economy and capitalistic ideas I am all Republican. I feel alienated this time around just as always. I am a liberal person in the sense that the issues that really concern me are: war, poverty, environment, worker's rights, human rights, and race relations. However, I find that the garden variety liberal politician is much more comfortable voting for and speaking about liberal values that he or she is comfortable embodying them. For instance, Ted Kennedy who has been a champion of the left and should be a major supporter of alternative energy has resisted a move to put in a wind generator farm near his ridiculously large mansion. It makes me sick.

So this year I'll probably vote for Obama, but I've decided that activism, personal ethics, and begrudged politics is probably what will best accomplish my goals.
