Pancreatitis is incredibly hard to treat, this is what my first dog passed away from. It's not from the cat fight, but rather is something he's probably had a long time and is only just now showing how serious it is. Dogs and cats are not like people and will take a very long time before displaying they're ill, and by then they've stopped eating. - But yes, more than likely, if it's like my dog, the disorder has came about from a lifetime of eating random things he wasn't supposed to

Oh, poor Eli! I never got to meet him. I am sad. I don't think you're blighted for cats. Especially if it's pancreatitis. Even if it's about the fight. Neither of those things have anything to do with your caretaking abilities. Fish are nice, but they can't snuggle.
