Nice to hear what's been going on, even if it is about your cough! Thanks for the email last week, I'm getting abin fever from the THREE snowstorms we've had this week (school's cancelled, everything's closed, ugh). I just hope it doesn't happen on Thursday or Friday (I fly out on Friday).
Congrats on getting into grad school! I'm glad you're having such a great, unique experience in Tokyo though I'm sorry to hear you're still sick. How neat to find yourself at least starting to assimilate into the Japanese language and culture. I hope things continue to go well for you.
Hiya, kid. Fuji-san sounds amazing. When I'm up on the 5th floor of the Humanities building (where my faculty is) I can see the little hilly excuses for 'mountains' in this country. This city takes up most of a pretty big valley, which means no snow, potential flooding and very, very pretty scenery from a height.
Can you distinguish between ocha, kocha and mocha? That's the most intricate Japanese I know ;)
Well, mocha is mocha. Ocha is green tea. Kocha I. . . don't know. . . . I'm a fan of uron-cha, myself, which is really oolong-cha, though it took me a little too long to figure that out. ;)
Heh -- Fuji is amazing on the occasions that it's visible. You undoubtedly have a view far more frequently than I do. . . . Eventually, I'll make it out to the Fuji area and get some good pics which I'll send along if you want. Not as good as actually being there, but, well -- you know. ;)
This entry was way too long. I doubt anyone's still reading.
Give us a little bit more credit -- you DO matter to us, y'know. ;)
I second the train ride thing! Go for it! There are worse ways to spend an hour, seriously.
WOOT GRAD SCHOOL. No big surprise that you'd get in, though. Can we throw a party? Let's THROW A PARTY. Or, whatever, y'know, just really bouncy after getting to hear from you.
