see, harry potter is good for you. a word of caution, however: no matter how much you like the book (and you WILL like the book, mwahahah) the movie will not measure up. they never do.
it's strange that we are nearing the end of the original contract. my coworker is out next week (thank god) then after is my japanese sister then my training group peeps. (read peeps as SARAH and ANNETTE) but ahh well, such is the transiant life, i suppose.
Eh, but when are the books NOT better than the movies?
(Answer: when the book was written by John Grisham. But anyway.)
And about Obon -- yeah, dude, if you're up for it! There shouldn't be all that much planning required, except to book shinkansen/plane/whatever tickets. We'll be in touch, yo.
"I don't mean just toast with honey. I mean, this massive dessert thing. The base is a huuuuuuge chunk of white bread -- had to be over half a loaf. It's cut from the top down into nine sections, like a tic-tac-toe board, and the whole thing is toasted a bit and coated with honey and/or maple syrup, and then topped with ice cream and more sauce and whatever else it comes with. "
It sounds so good. It also sounds like one of those cutesy desserts we get here at Japanese fusion restaurants. It resembles desserts I used to see in Doraemon, so I suspect it's part japanese, the look of it at least.
I doubt I'll ever read the full series -- there are too many other books in the world to read. I enjoyed "Goblet" and will probably try to read the later books before their respective movies come out, but that's as far as it'll go. Going to post my thumbs up/ thumbs down list tomorrow (Rowling is definitely, definitely guilty of the over-use of exclamation marks and ellipses, but the adverbs didn't get to me, hahaha. I'm such a snob.)
It's a kiddy book. Kid's need the visual of dot dot dots and !!!-ness. If ever you decide to read Book5, consider yourself forewarned of its abuse of CAPSLOCK, OMFG.
Harry Potter. You are on dangerous grounds, woman. Let me know if you find yourself in a badbad Potter situation and I can arrange a secular exorcism. You know the kind. It'll be fun.

HarryPotter is a deadly fandom. I reccommend Book3 - best so far out of all the five that are out (in my totally RemusLupin-biased opinion). Ho hum.
