Are Canadian Conservatives the same as American Republicans and vice versa?

If so, the Canadians are so much more sensible with their names.

Yeah -- Conservatives are right-ish, Liberals are centre-ish, NDP is left-ish, Bloc is. . . weird and all over the place and they only run in Quebec. That's an oversimplification, but anyway.

Conservatives won a minority government. I suppose change is good. . . but I'm really scared. We'll see, I guess. . .

General coolness: Adorable puppies who don't have the slightest care about political parties and only want you to love them and play fetch. Gleee. =)

And, um, me coming to see you in a month?

There's always that. They just tend to be harder to come by. ;)

Change can be good. If nothing else, this may lead to a very contemporary, non-bloody, revamping-of-stagnated-political-sphere kind of mini revolution. If not... there's always next time.

And re: Ms. Round - rararararaaarghaaarrhghghghghghg. I. e. awesome!!

Yeah, I'm hoping there'll be some good change. The former PM is stepping down as head of the Liberal party. I'm kind of hoping Michael Ignatieff steps up, but. . . we'll see.

And in the meantime, I just have to hope that this Conservative leadership isn't as disastrous as the last one was. I mean, the last one was so disastrous that it led to a 14-year ownership (pwnership?) of parliament by its major opponent party.

We'll see. We know the guy can't go apeshit-conservative on us because he'll never get re-elected if he does, and anyway, the Libs and NDP will fight him all the way to the bank (so to speak).

It's funny how talking about political struggle always leads to connotations of something like Worms, the computer games where little worms blow each other up... ;)
