Memorable Highlights * Planning to go Jiyva before I started, going Jiyva too early and not realizing that the amulet of faith made my mutations go crazy, making nothing reliable - removing it made them settle down. The amulet of faith also made it so levels would fill up with slimes extremely quickly, leaving very little to be found in terms of items. * Death 1: Running into Nikola, who refused to be confused by mephitic cloud multiple times (as I didn't have much technology at the time), and getting one-hit by a bouncing lightning bolt * Death 2: Running into a pair of pit fiends on Vault: 4, who proceed to hellfire me to death. I had really lousy resists almost the entire game. * Death 3: Getting beaten to death by a deep elf blademaster on Elf: 5. This death was due to gambling - I thought I could get away before it killed me so I didn't read one of my blink scrolls. Fuck blademasters. * Death 4: Getting beaten to death again by a deep elf blademaster on Dungeon: 27. This time two of them appeared and just beat the tar out of me

For anyone considering it, Felid is really cool. It turns the game on its head, so you kinda wind up playing a different game than most other characters. I think the key to doing well with it is to pretend all its disadvantages are advantages. I think Jiyva works very well at covering your weaknesses, with (as Ant pointed out) Nemelex as a close second.
JiyvaJiyva protects your potions and scrolls from being destroyed. This is incredibly useful with Felid, since you can't use wands. This also means you're not forced to wear an amulet of conservation
