Well, some people like to fight to protect their friends or for the greater good. Others like to cause trouble, but for the people that don't, maybe they don't like to hurt people. Sometimes that's what you've gotta to do when you fight.

Depends on the reasoning behind it, I suppose. Some people fight to better themselves and some just fight for the sake of fighting, while others fight to protect those who they care about. As far as why people wouldn't fight... I haven't really encountered a lot of that in my line of work, but I know that some people just don't like causing others pain, so they try to avoid combat if at all possible. Inexperience can also be a factor in motivating people to stay out of conflict.

I fight to protect my friends, and to keep the world safe for those who cannot defend themselves.

'Cause some of us have got a damn good reason to fight, and other people don't.

[Thoughtful pause.] ...That, and some of us don't have anything left to lose.

[Ookay, he won't be responding to the first part...]

...Why would you fight if you don't have anything left to lose?

Because then there ain't a damn thing left to be afraid of. May as well throw your all into a fight that's worth dying for at that point.

[Ball of sunshine, this one.]
