What upsets me is that Scientists don't claim to know how life started only that they have a theory based on evidence collected from thousands of clues - no scientist worth his salt would claim that the current theory is good explanation it is just the best explanation we can come up with with our present degree of knowledge. However creationists will make this huge knowledge claim without research, study or in an depth analysis. Their defence? Their theory can't be proven wrong. Well it can't be proven right either which means as a theory it useless.

If you believe Karl Popper, no theory can be proven right, only accepted until it is proven wrong.

But hey. I'm not trying to prove him wrong. I'm just trying to prove his arguments are shaky. :o)

hmmmm. i dont like that article; while i understand the author's intention, his/her arguments against scientific theories show a complete lack of understanding of them. one should always know more about the thing they are arguing against than that they are arguing for, if they have a hope of convincing anyone else of their opinion - "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer" ;)

I'd also like to point out that evolution and creation aren't mutually exclusive, much as people might think they are. It is possible that there is a being who made the heavens and the earth, and then let us do our own thing, and see where we got to.
isn't that commonly referred to as 'intelligent design'?
