It took me a long time to talk myself into LJ. Most of the time I don't have a great deal to say, so I couldn't see the point. In the end, I wanted to reply to someone and the only way I could do that was from a journal of my own. That impersonation thing is bizarre. Especially since they never actually did anything with it. Weird.

Practice makes perfect - start fiddling around and commenting and you'll get used to it. For example, you replied here to your own post rather than my comment. If you'd relied to my comment I'd have gotten an email notification of your reply right away. As it is I just happened to come over and take a look and then saw it ( ... )
