5th Partridge [Action/Voice][Let's Give Away Shit]

Mar 11, 2011 22:37

[The bar door suddenly swings open. As the lightning crashes behind him, illuminating a crisp white outline around his figure, Ian walks silently in, dripping with rain water, a hoodie drawn over his unruly green hair. He glances to the left-to the right-before sitting down with a shadow crossing his features. After a beat, he looks up to the ( Read more... )

Grow back limbs? [Skeptical, but from browsing over the journals while sick, it seems less of a jump then it usually is.]

How? [in spite of her skepticism she still can’t hide the excitement in her voice.]

That... is a secret!

[Looks like Ian should be a character in Slayers. :|a]

After all, I can't be the best medicine seller if everyone knows how it works.

But such a thing is revolutionary! To not share such knowledge is a shame, isnt' it?
[S-she wants to see. ;_; ]

That is true, but the last time I almost shared the knowledge on it, I was almost filleted. It wasn't pretty, lemme tell ya'. That's why I got to trust whoever I tell; they've got to be my best bros, or else I'll just look at you funny and crab-walk away.

Yanno?

[Tattoi had noticed Ian consuming a pitcher of water in the bar earlier. He'd noted it down as something unusual - although he'd had the same thing himself - and proceeded to stay out of sight.]

[He'd followed Ian to the woods - years of practice with stealth and deceit had helped him remain out of sight - and he was now watching this odd ritual he seemed to be undergoing. The only real signs of Tattoi being there are some plumes of mist that might be written off as fog. ...Very localized fog. :|b]

[Ian's kind of slow, so give him a little while. Followed? What's followed mean? 8D

But... after a while, that fog does catch his eye. He drops the vial and leaps up, surprised.]

What the heck...! Is the forest haunted or something...?!

[Oh shit! A haunted forest! Ian, you fool, you might be attacked by specters! Those are real, right? I mean, anything's possible in Luceti!]

Hey, ghosts! Stop being jerks!

I-I'm not scared of you anyway, so there!

So l-lay off the foggy stuff, huh??

[...Fool. Let's toy with him a bit. Tattoi releases some excess steam with a loud, angry hiss; the "ghosts" are getting bigger and they're getting mad. Tattoi's also getting ready to escape, should he decide to get closer.]

[Said bartender is torn between amusement and incredulity as he watches this gentleman first chug an entire pitcher of water and then suck horribly at darts.]

Did something good happen to you?

[He just grins at that.]

I'm alive! That's plenty reason to be happy, don't you think?

[oh!]

Do you think I could have another pitcher, Mr. Bartender?

[Good God, where does he put it all?]

Coming right up.

[And right up it comes.]

So what's your name, Mr. Stranger?

The name's Ian Kolansky, medicine seller! [Sorry, he's been saying this for 130 years. It's getting tough to dispel. Also, brb swigging half of this mug.]

And who're you?

[Not a New Feather, but that kind of medicine... Well. This is both an utterly fascinating and completely unbelievable claim.]

Reconstructing severed limbs? Well, if you have medicine like that, you ought to be running clinical trials on its efficacy and then mass-producing it. Such a medicine would be quite an asset.

I would be fascinated to see a trial of this medicine in use. [Though Robert would be... less than enthusiastic about cutting off a limb to test it.]

From where do you source this medicine?

You

[WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.

WHAT ARE THESE BIG KID WORDS. D'8]

[Okay. Well.

Layperson's terms it is then.]

... The medicine you make should be tested and then sold widely. Though I find your claims as to what it does... difficult to believe, if they are true then they are revolutionary.

Terran medicine can reconstruct limbs, yes, but the grafting can be something of a tedious process, to say nothing of the complexity of the cell matrices involved...

I take it you are not a doctor? [Because a doctor should recognize these words.]

[He rubs his head bashfully at that. Oh. Right. That stuff.]

N-no, I'm not really much of a doctor... I just sell the medicine, really.

[How do I explain that being sold widely is difficult? I mean, 'you'd have to squeeze me dry of blood on a regular basis' is a really hideous way to explain it...]

I know it's kinda crazy, but what reason would I have to lie about something I'm giving away for free, in a place where I can't run away or anything?

[Sup, Ian, Rise can't help but chuckle at that payment part. Some things don't change, apparently.]

So you did use advertising after all.

[o haiiiii pretty lady~

Give Ian another 15 years and he'll be great for change! Maybe. Possibly. A little.]

Eeheheh, oh! Is that you, Rise? How do you always run into me when it comes to sells?
