I loved the fic! I don't have an account anywhere you do, so I wanted to ask here: when Danny testified to the House committee after the press conference where he revealed himself, as discussed in Ghosts in the Closet, did these events become public knowledge? I knows the gang probably needed to downplay it at that point, because of all the lying and conspiracy and not wanting to provoke the Guys in White, but just... this whole plan was so audacious and brilliant. This ragtag group took on a government agency and bested them over and over, mentally, technologically, martially... it's hilarious. The Guys in White deserve to be a laughingstock.
No problem, I'm glad you found a way to contact me. And thanks so much, glad you liked Alibi!
You know, that's a really good question. I specifically didn't write the actual scene of Danny testifying because, well, it would be mostly boring political crap, but also because I kind of wanted to leave it open-ended exactly what was discussed.
I think it's definitely possible that this came out. The GIW would certainly have questions about anything that didn't make sense given this new information (how could Danny Fenton have been out drinking all night if Danny Phantom was seen at the docks and they're the same person???). Although you're right, they might not have wanted that airing out over CSPAN or something, so maybe they'd question him themselves away from the cameras? I think it's likely, though, that it did come out at SOME point.
And yes, the GIW are rather ridiculous. But kind of disturbing, too. I'm with Sam: random bad guys don't scare me as much as bad guys with the force of the law behind them.
