I have no idea why I want to clarify these things, but I might as well do it while I have a decent internet connection.
1) Regardless of when or where I've met you, I still hold you in high regard. Don't think 'Oh, she probably doesn't even remember me', because chances are you don't even know influential you've been. That's why I think 'Top Friends' are 100% bullshit. I just keep one because you can't have a 'Top 0'. Uh...thanks, Tom.
That's why Livejournal is so much better. :]
2) I don't understand why people feel the need to date other people in high school. Maybe I've never been one for emotional attachment but seriously, I don't find being committed to and emotionally connected to someone very appealing. I'm relationship-impaired. I never get past the 'talking stage'. I'm always seen as an option, which is probably why I don't have a problem having guy friends and being really nice to them, as opposed to those same people who want to take it to the next level and treating them like absolute shit. In some ways I'm being just like them when I avoid people, but I have no problem with it. I've chosen to ignore my conscience for the most part, because I've realized that once I start being excessively nice out of friendliness, or when I start letting my guard down, that's when the drama starts pouring in. Right now, that's the last thing I need.
3) It's Senior year. I've made it a point not to try to meet too many new people. When you don't know a lot about someone it makes you worry, and I have enough to worry about. I'm failing Psychology. That's like the easiest class ever. I need to get my priorities straight.
4) I don't care what other people say. Vanna is a metal band. Chris Preece's vocals are more metal than anything. Evan Pharmakis' vocals aren't 'emo', either. They're hardcore, but that word's been butchered to the point where it's associated with emo/screamo. And they're the epitome of everything that stands against it. People should take two seconds out of their lives to stop headbanging to the same song (aka A Dead Language For A Dying Lady, get over it), and read the damn lyrics. It's not the same as interpreting ancient Mesopotamian artifacts (I should know), so it's not that hard. Anybody who listens to 'This Map Is Old News' would know that they're not emo. But of course, you only like 'the old songs', aka the only song you know, aka A Dead Language. ha, n00bs think they're so fucking wise but I swear...that's only lyric-wise! Musically, they're a lot more sophisticated. What sets Evan Pharmakis and Nick Lambert apart from every other 'post-hardcore' guitarist is that they don't do their own thing, they actually play their guitars in harmony, and pull it off well. (Honestly, that emofied plucking sound is terrible. Bands should just stop that) Not to mention the way Brandon Davis pulls it all together with his mad skills. This drummer's somewhat godly, really.
So children, please. Shut the fuck up and go bite on Higinia or something.
5) Yes, Vanna is my favorite band. Favorite 'metal' band. Favorite...whatever. Genres suck balls anyway.
6) Myspace bands do have potential.
Proof.
7) One exception for number 2.
Somewhat inspired by Hideki's ages-old entry. Enjoy?
