Soo ... anyone know of a good time to drive through Chicago? I've got to get to Wisconsin. Damnit. I was thinking of taking 294 around Chicago? Anyone ... anyone???

depends on the day.. if it's a weekend, or after 7pm, or before 6am, 90/94 really isn't that bad.. And where in Wisconsin are you going? depending on where you're going you could avoid chicago all together by going over 74, then up 39 into rockford, ill then hwy 43 into wisconsin.. just an idea..

And ya know, i'm only 3hrs from chicago, and depending where you're at in wisconsin, not too far away! lol

sorry i didnt see these messages until just now. i stayed in elkhart lake, wi. about an hour north of milwaukee. i thought you guys were in iowa. im really bad at geography .. but who knows. lol. did you guys get married yet? congrats if you did!

lol we are in iowa, but we're in the corner of iowa, wisconsin, and illinois. So to get to chicago is only 3 hours over on hwy 20. As far as the wedding, we got married May 19th. Thanks for the congrats! Hope all is well for ya! ttyl!

Shoulda called me! LOL. You know I live in Milwaukee now. On a Saturday anytime before 11 or anytime where you'll hit Chicago around 7-8 pm. As for 294, it's a crap shoot either way. Sometimes it saves you time, sometimes it's not worth it. If this is going to be a regular type of trip I totally recommend a I-pass. This is where you save the most time. Instead of waiting in line to pay tolls it's open road tolling and you just drive under a radio detector that picks up the signal from your pass. The pass is linked up to your license and registered with a credit card that loads it 20 dollars at a time. The big plus? The tolls are 1/2 off when you use an I-pass.
In the future I wouldn't recommend traveling on a Saturday, and if you do, do it way early in the morning.
