Ellie and Elisabeth would both instinctively stop at the edges of things like that. Charlotte has no fear, no brains. I was like WHAT ARE YOU DOING?????! She's a terror in Maine when we visit the bell tower, too -- plunging towards the edge of the hill every two minutes.
Toddler babywearing is not an altruistic act. It is pure self-defense.

You get it. I once got seriously surprised looks from a mom-of-girls when I told her, months ago, that I didn't even start to consider having T. With me in a store while NOT in a sling, stroller or cart. The "you can't even control your 18-month-old look.
Liam tried to crawl into the ocean when he was nine months old, taking off for it at breakneck speed, giggling maniacally. I don't think I let him around water again until he was past 2. LOL.
And I can't resist the bath face. Isla gives me that face when I find her hiding upstairs, crapping in her pants.

She's preparing you for a boy, I tell you. Tijn at that age would actually have walked right in, without even stopping :D

I wish her a Charlotte or Tijn for her next baby.
