it's a sewalong!

I started working on two much-requested satchels for the big girls.

Little one-shoulder messenger bags. Easy peasy. There is an adorable messenger bag pattern in the book I just got from the library, Little Things To Sew. Really, really cute book.

I love sewing!

This is why I like knitting. It doesn't work? Start over with same yarn.

Cutting?! Oh, hells no.

My sewing machine is enjoying its holiday in the attic. For the past 3 years.

I guess that's where nearsightedness (and contactless) comes in handy... I break a lot of needles sewing slings :P

They make needles for that ultrasuede babe... Another vote for not lining Bat's from my corner, unless she's got some other fabric she's wanting but honestly? I'd say no. I'm mean like that ;)

And also, you need to turn pro-blogger. Because the world will view ads to read this.

So I got this book from the library. It's so cute! Pro bloggers get sent new sewing books for free all the time, to make a pattern and write a glowing review and shill their product. I've discovered Pinterest, the social decor catalog porn site for bored people. I want to decorate, to craft, to repurpose, to photograph it all and then Photoshop it into perfection. I'm thinking, I should start a sewing parenting blog! I can be the next Soulemama!

Yeah. Who's going to pay me to swear at their stupid crappy books? LOL.

I'm thinking more "Crunchy granola, homeschooling, craft goddess with wit and brains", totally humorous Bloggess style.

And by the way, now that you don't want to sew that ever again but have to anyway, how much do you want to make two more? My kids would LOVE them.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, makes me swear as much as sewing.

Yep: me too. I pretty much just sew by hand now; my sewing machine broke and I don't even *want* to fix it.

That was funny, Katie! (And you sound so much less angry than I would have been by that point--I love that you can laugh about it :-)
