Aaaand since most of her icons have short hair--this.

PERSONALITY:
Minatsuki’s character, in a nutshell, can be described as a rose with thorns. She may seem sweet and innocent just from a mere glance and minimal interaction, but if not handled carefully, can be harmful--very harmful, mainly for the fact that she has a terribly sadistic and vulgar streak that shows itself when her temper is short. The rest of the time, she’s not as exaggeratedly crazy but still rather bitchy.

When she first meets someone, she’s likely to act timid and sweet--this is the front she uses in order to make people drop their guards around her and not view her as a threat so they‘ll be that much more surprised when she tricks them. So basically, if she’s ever behaving this way towards someone, it’s because she’s somehow going to end up benefiting from it; she doesn’t act this way without a reason.

A key point of her personality is that she’s extremely reluctant to trust people at all--even if they’re family. She believes that every single person in the world is a rotten liar unworthy of putting her trust in due to the fact that she was betrayed at a very young age. So when it’s put that way, she could be described as a closet anti-social misanthropist as well.

She’s not an innocent person like her appearance might lead one to believe, either. Her extreme sadism has led to animals and even at times, people, becoming injured if they cross her. Harming others when they piss her off does not bother her much at all. At the very least, she won’t attack on a mere whim and needs a reason to do so.

In the case that someone proves to her that they are worth trusting, which takes more than just simple words and shallow actions, she’ll show that person a different side of her--her true self. She won’t appear as that fake goody-goody girl type, but will reveal that she has a more devil-may-care attitude. Of course that doesn’t mean she’s any less sadistic--that trait remains, though is mild and not as dangerous. Really, she’d just act that way for kicks towards people she cares for. At these times, she also possesses quite the potty mouth and often drops F bombs and says things that are vulgar and very inappropriate. None of this phases her in the least, even when others are made uncomfortable--after all, she’s a sadist, so she enjoys things like this. One more thing to note is that if someone she has finally come to put her faith in betrays that hard-earned trust, she will not easily forgive them. Nothing a small “sorry” would be able to cover. She doesn’t tolerate anyone’s bullshit.

One of Minatsuki’s more positive traits is that she is caring, particularly towards her close friends--even if she won‘t admit it. This can also be seen in her love for flowers, of all things, which take a great amount of time and patience to help nurture.

COMPUTER APTITUDE:
Probably has basic computer knowledge and knows how to operate one, but knows nothing technical so is unable to hack or do anything fancy like that. Though she might trick or blackmail someone into doing that for her, if the situation arose and if that is even possible…

AU HISTORY:
The reason for Minatsuki’s  two-faced nature stems from a traumatic event that occurred early on in her lifetime. When she was a child, she was a victim of a high-magnitude earthquake that struck the Tokyo area. At this time, she and her mother had been taking care of flowers in a greenhouse when the earthquake shook the ground and caused the entire area to become wrecked. Minatsuki ended up trapped under debris while her mother was not. Instead of helping her daughter like any caring parent should, she chose to save her flowers instead and left her daughter to fend for herself. Her mother ended up being crushed (a fate Minatsuki believed the rotten bitch deserved) and Minatsuki was able to escape relatively unscathed. The fact that her mother betrayed her left a deep scar, and she developed the belief that people were horrible liars she could never trust. To protect herself, she also became one of those liars.

After her mother died, she and her older brother Yoh were left in the care of their father, who had some difficulty raising them since he was a single parent and his job didn’t pay very well. Minatsuki came to hate this man and blamed him for everything that went wrong, but kept all of this shut-up inside and kept up that sweet-liar face. Along with the traumatic event, this suppressed rage led to the emergence of her sadistic nature. Instead of being blatant about her hatred, she would often take surreptitious jabs at her father that conveyed this feeling. Towards her brother, however, she kept up the innocent façade to use him as a sort of bodyguard so he would protect her if her father ever lost his temper due to her subtle insults. She was able to manipulate Yoh easily because he cared about her and became an overprotective brother since the earthquake accident. She, however, doesn’t care much for her family at all.

The only things she really does care about are her beloved flowers. Despite the fact that they are tied to the memory of her wretched mother, she tends to them with care and uses them as a sort of outlet to calm her nerves. They, after all, would never end up betraying her. She knows quite a bit about taking care of flora and is well-educated in the language of flowers. Her favorites are primroses. She takes pride in their care and when animals end up trampling them, she makes sure those animals end up hurt.

In school, she kept up her sweet façade and acted like a model student. Most viewed her as a shy, studious girl who spent most of her time taking care of the flowers in the school’s greenhouse. However, those who had crossed her and gotten onto her bad side knew her true nature was far from that.  Her grades were so decent because she wasn’t above blackmailing and threatening teachers--they weren't that way because she studied. Students weren’t spared this torture, either, and she often coerced certain ones into lending her notes and doing her homework. Trouble arose when a student she victimized ended up trashing her greenhouse and then later ended up being pushed from the second floor of the school. Witnesses claimed Minatsuki was the one who shoved  the student, but this was never proven. Even so, the school counselor became involved with Minatsuki after a few students stepped forward with testimony, and notified her father of the problems that concerned her.

Her father didn’t want to believe that his daughter was such an extreme problem child outside of the home, but ended up withdrawing her from that school to prevent any further incidents anyways. He blamed her attitude on the trauma that came from her mother’s abandonment years and years ago, and decided it would be best if he sent her to a juvenile center where they could keep an eye on her and ensure she didn’t endanger anyone else. Her brother Yoh was against this, believing his sister was innocent and unable to do anything so violent, and challenged his father’s decision, believing there was a better choice. They both researched further options and eventually came to an agreement that Minatsuki would be better off starting over in a new environment. Her father then arranged enrollment at an academy in the Mediterranean called Reims--via scholarship, of course, since her grades were decent enough for that. Perhaps getting her out of her home country and sending her to get some fresh air abroad would help her trauma to heal and also lead to her becoming a better person instead of the criminal that she was becoming now. Mainly, however, he just couldn’t bear to deal with her anymore and wanted to get her out of his hair--that’s how she viewed it, at least. She believed her father and her brother both were abandoning her just like her mother did. Either way, she didn’t really have much of a say in the decision and considered it more of a vacation to a foreign country rather than an exile.

Since she has to start over at Reims, without a reputation to uphold, it’s easier for her to sweetly swindle unsuspecting students. In truth, she actually enjoys that aspect of attending this new school. Even so, it’s just a whole new batch of liars that she has to deal with.

SAMPLES

INTRANET/1ST PERSON SAMPLE:
[The video feed suddenly sparks on to reveal a young, timid-looking girl whose eyes are only occasionally looking into the camera. The camera is unsteady and shaky, so it’s apparent that this is being recorded from a cell phone of some sort. The background is in motion too--she’s recording this entry while walking.]

Um…ehe, it’s a bit embarrassing to admit to this, but I’m still a pretty unfamiliar with the campus.

I heard there was a botany club somewhere around here, and I’d really like to check it out, but I can’t seem to find the building I’m looking for.

Come to think of it, I don’t really know where I am at all, right now. Could anyone help me out, maybe…?

[After Minatsuki gives the camera a sweet, shy smile, the feed cuts off.]

LOG/3RD PERSON SAMPLE:
The Quad’s first floor was mainly empty, save for a lone young girl sitting quietly at one of the computer terminals. Though her feet were swinging leisurely back and forth in a slow rhythm, her eyes were half-lidded and far from amused as she browsed the Intranet’s recent entries. She took a small sip from the juice box she had in her hand, only to encounter that hollow slurping noise that alerted her the box was now empty. With a scoff, she tossed the crumpled box into a nearby waste bin with much more force than was necessary. It was clear beyond a doubt that she was upset, though the empty juice box was not the one at fault. No, it was the Intranet’s current contents that irritated her.

She knew gossip was a messy business that only hypocrites and liars participated in--hell, even she spread dirty rumors when she felt the notion. But when she was the topic of gossip, well…frankly, it pissed her off. Apparently some arrogant bitch thought she was being pretty cute by throwing around a few cleverly concealed quips that heavily implied Minatsuki was a dirty slut who couldn’t keep her legs shut. What was up with that, huh? Who did that girl think she was? Lucky for that chick, Minatsuki had no idea who she was. This would change soon--very soon--however. No one slandered her name like that and got away unscathed. Smirking deviously at the screen, she cracked her knuckles and poised her elegant fingers over the keyboard like an artist struck by divine inspiration. That girl wasn’t the only one who knew how to start shit.

HAVE YOU READ THE FAQ?
Yes, and I’m sure I might have hallucinated something about rabid wombats because that was just a bit too terrifying to be real, right? …Right?
