I miss library book sales; the library back home in PA used to have a huge one every year. The Festival of Books is not nearly as good, although I did get a couple of good things this year (one of the Dresden files books, which was really good even though I jumped in at book 9; a copy of Magic For Beginners as a gift for my sister).

Seconding Tom's enjoyment of Diamond Age. I liked Perdido Street Station; if you enjoy it you should check out the next book in the same world, The Scar. Even if you don't enjoy it you should check out his young adult book Un Lun Dun, which is fantastic.

Santa Monica Library, West LA and Westwood Library have rummage sales pretty often. We could go one weekend.
