We had a pleasant day in the high country searching for mushrooms, came home with (I believe) several young Queen Boletes (Boletus aereus) (it's hard distinguishing between King Boletes and Queens), a few aspen oysters (Pleurotus populinus), one massive Blewit (Clitocybe nuda) (need to verify the ID here), and one potential Shrimp Russula (fish ( Read more... )

Colorado. The ones we found were very, very young / small, but that's the way I prefer them: the younger they are, the more dense the flesh. I don't like them large & marshmallow-y! :)
